Abstract : Determined the attitude of 20 Non Smokers 20 light smokers and 30 Heavy smokers
towards the statutory warning on , Cigarette Packets,that "Cigarette smoking is injurious to your health".Based on Leo Festinger's (1963)Theory Of Cognitive Dissonance,it was hypothesised that the smokers would have a negative attitude towards the warning. This was not supported. However , the S's attitudw score was co-related to introvert or extrovert personality Traits as measured by Maudesley Personality Inventory.
