La Corea del Sud in prima fila su ricerca e innovazione, ospita anche un centro dell’Onu. Si è chiusa a Yeosu, in Corea del Sud, l’expo sugli oceani. L’obiettivo principale era di sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sul tema della salvaguardia dell’ambiente marino e dello sviluppo delle tecnologie riguardanti il mare. Anche l’Italia era presente.
