Growing an agriculture and livestock business is one of the most viable forms of business that generate massive income. However, the success of agriculture and livestock business will depend on how the crops and livestock are managed. Moreover, the success of this type of business will vary depending on how the products are marketed and distributed.
The first thing to do is to establish the goals for the business (Monosoff, 2007). For instance, since the crops yield $40,000 income a year and the cattle generate $60,000, the business goal can be stated as follows: The agriculture and livestock business will generate an income of $60,000 and $80,000, respectively. In addition, it is also important to take into account the target market or consumer (Monosoff, 2007). Who will benefit from the products of the business? How much would they likely purchase? Since the business is on agriculture and livestock, the most likely consumers would be hotels and restaurants. Having identified the consumers, the business may now take into account the way to market the products. These products can be marketed online or directly to consumers. For a startup business, it would be favorable to conduct business locally. As soon as the business has created its market base, it must look into the product distribution process. This entails purchasing a vehicle or truck that would transport the products from the farm to the market and consumers.
Proper marketing and product distribution have been effective in helping many businesses grow. Big companies have been marketing products direct to the consumers. Some even put up their website to establish personal connection with customers.
