In โUnderstanding the Role of Power in Decision Makingโ, Pfeffer (1981) claimed that motivations pertaining to power influence peopleโs decisions, especially in the workplace or the organizational setting. Pfeffer set out to discuss different dimensions and elements of power to establish and support the authorโs theory that the pursuit of, legitimacy, and existence of power affects peopleโs decisions.
