Suffering manifests patients’ perception about themselves and life. The symptoms of suffering indicate the deeper pain that patients encounter. Suffering reveals a narrative that patients have regarding their health and life. The suffering becomes a face that embodies the entire realm of patient illness. Patients depend on nurses for care.
