Executive Summary
This report examines the concept of sustainable manufacturing and its related product design and processes. It is discovered that sustainable manufacturing is about using measures that ensures responsible manufacturing in three areas – environmental, social and economic. Therefore, care is taken to guide the environment footprints of a given manufacturing activity. The paper examines that sustainable manufacturing is about designing products that achieve the end of controlling environmental footprints.
