There are various actions that I would recommend Patrick take with the US Congress. To start, privatizing the US postal service is essential to improving the efficiency of the service. The privatization will make the competitors in the service such as FedEx and UPS to start looking for other strategies to remain relevant. The management will also be able to make better decisions on time. Second, there should be consolidation of some mail processing units, increasing the non-career employee work hours, consolidation of several routes of delivery, establishment of several village post offices among many others.
