I sat there very still except for me right leg. It was moving up and down slightly, over, and over again. The motion was quick, my leg balanced on the ball of my foot. It moved some more, up, down, up, down, like a hammer.
My forehead glistened from the sweat. The cold sweat. It reflected the lights from the ceiling. Those lights, those white, fluorescent lights. I wiped my forehead with the back of my hand and my sleeves hoping to get rid of some of the moisture. No luck. The sweat came back.
My stomach growled and lurched. It felt as if something was wrong. I know I did not eat anything bad the night prior, but my stomach felt strange. It was almost as if it too knew what was about to happen. I readjusted the way I was sitting to see if that would help with the strange feeling in my gut, but it did not help.
I reached into my back back and retrieved my water bottle. It was no longer cold as it was in the morning, but warm. IT was the best I had. I uncapped the lid and took a long swig of luke warm water. I thought it might help with the stomach. It didn’t. Once the warm water hit my stomach, it made it worse and I felt something rising in my throat.
Sickness. I was about to vomit. My mouth and eyes immediately began watering up. Tears ran down the side of my cheeks and I could feel it coming. I looked out the window and took deep breaths. This would calm me down. Deep breaths. The bell rang. The exam was placed on my desk. The vomit went away along with my bad stomach. I stopped moving my leg. I pulled out my pen and calculator and began.
