Free Security Awareness Training Essay Sample
Security awareness for an organization is an essential practice for a firm. A single exploited vulnerability can lead to the destruction and eventually bringing down the systems of an organization. All employees need to follow the security measures that are available for a better functioning of the organizations. For them to support the measures appropriately there should be their proper training on the matter.
There are several groups of employees that should undergo training on this issue. First, the employees from the Information Systems Department should train. It is because the employees from this department are the ones who deal with the day to day running of the information systems of a firm. They maintain the security of the system and hence should undergo training. Second are the public communication and relationship department employees. It is because they rely on the information systems to relay the information of the firm to the general public. Also, the security department employees should be trained. It is because, besides keeping the organizations safe physically, they need to undergo training on how to maintain the safety of the virtual organization. The other employees should also be acquainted with the basic skills in information systems of the organization. It is because, at one point in their operations, they do handle information systems jobs. They should train so as to block any intrusion (Kim & Solomon, 2010).
The training should be conducted through offering classes to the employees, supplying them with manuals, allowing them to attend workshops and seminars about information systems security among others. The training needs to be immediate, and any delay might lead to severe consequences.
Ongoing training on how to maintain a safe information system should undergo the implementation. Several organizations have adopted the training. Specialized training should also be offered to the personnel in the information systems department. If implemented fully, the practices will help avoid a lot of threats to the information system of a firm (Kim & Solomon, 2010).
Documentation such as the Windows Internet Access Kit, Using Desktop Backup, Configuring Servers for cosign v3, Macintosh Internet Access Kit for Mac OS X among many others need to be kept. They should be maintained because they provide very crucial and significant information about information systems training. Others provide basic computing skills for the less skilled (Kim & Solomon, 2010).
In conclusion, information systems security should be maintained by all means. The maintenance can help prevent negative consequences that can befall an organization, leading to a halt in its operations.
