We are yet to find a situation where media makes an accurate representation of a specific problem or issue. Media can either create positive or negative bias over a certain issue, thus in the case of Nike, we can say that it will always be unfair. As with most journalism, when an issued is hyped up, it sells. When the titles of front pages are wonderfully crafted, readers get emotional related to the issue. Such event increases “hits” that drives revenues for media companies. No matter how noble media appears to the public, the motive behind biases and inaccurate depiction makes it unfair for a company of great complexity.
How fair was the negative treatment Nike received by Interest groups (labor, corporate critics etc)?
Corporate critics who had the first-hand experience of work conditions in factories of Nike give us a fair representation of what the problem is. Their reports are as accurate as it can be assuming that they are not in any way connected to a rival company. Public protesters (no connection to Nike whatsoever), some end users, endorsers, and even universities are looking at the company in a harsh way, as evidenced by their boycotts and cancellation of deals and contracts. Contracts are about mutual agreement and not issues of the company.
What strategy and then tactics did Nike’s leader use to try to answer his critics? (2 part question)

Nike also employed a massive public relations campaign to eliminate and reversing the remaining. The tactics that Nike employed were wage increase (above minimum), a workplace code of conduct, and a statement of their corporate responsibility. Nike also hired Michael Jordan as their spokesperson.
What alternate strategy would you suggest for a company in Nike’s position? Explain..
As with most modern companies, employing the LEAN model might be a good way for Nike to have an overall positive effect through more efficient manufacturing, reducing waste while increasing output.
Do you think Nike has done enough to improve the condition of workers in their off shore sources? Why or Why not?
Overall, Nike has done a good job of improving the overall condition of workers as they have utilized various measures such as using less toxic chemicals, and being transparent of their methodologies.
