Abstract
"To Live", by Zhang Yimou, appears to be a simple title, but it is an ocean containing information about Chinese history before and during Communist rule. The movie focuses on life of a family in China that goes through many hardships during Cultural Revolution in 1960s. The message of the heroine represents the voice of thousands of Chinese people that they want peace in life.
