Hurricane Rita was the fourth-most intense Atlantic hurricane that was ever recorded. It was intense tropical cyclone ever observed in the Gulf of Mexico. Part of the recording was done in the year 2005. The Atlantic Hurricane season included three of the six most intense Atlantic hurricanes that have ever been recorded. Rita was a stormed which was named the eighteenth. It was also recorded as the major Hurricane of the year 2005 season.
