Introduction

This paper will be seeking to explore brief understanding of the two documentaries Spark- A Burning Man Story and Detropia. We will examine their differences and similarities, their struggle and growth, and the problems they have encountered on their level of progress. Spark- A burning man documentary was launched in 2013.An imaginary city is constructed, and almost 60000 people gather for a week to witness the burning man festival in a desert (Siff 1). On the other hand, Detropia was launched 2012 a real life documentary revealing how the automobile industry has underdeveloped the city of Detroit.

The Differences between the two cities and their similarities and how economic practices of each ensure development

Both cities people have lived together peacefully helping each other and have attracted so many people all over the globe because of their cultural and economic advantages. Sugrue (5) argues that waterways of Detroit connect it to major states around America. The waterways have made it self-reliant and one of the biggest automobile manufacturing industry city in America. On the other hand (New York times 1) asserts that Spark –A burning man story is where people try to benefit the economy. People carry their food gifts shelter and belongings for a week, and they ensure that nobody sells or buys anything. In all these scenarios, the temporal and permanent cities have economic goals that benefit the latter and visitors.
The clear cut difference that comes out is that one show how automobile manufacturing business has ruined the city while the other is a temporal city constructed by the organizers of the event and is purely for cultural activities. Another difference is that Spark- A burning man city gifts, communal effort, self-radical training has to be enforced for people to last that stipulated time of one week. Detropia focuses on how the population of Detroit has reduced drastically due to the long term impacts of the automobile industry (McAlinden, Dziczek and Menk 4)

The growth and problematic issues experienced in each city

Spark-A burning man city since its inception has attracted so many visitors all around the world who come for the annual festival to witness the burning of a gigantic effigy. The event is carried out in Black Rock Desert Nevada and last year it recorded the largest number of attendees numbering 60000.The event has countered its shortcomings in that the organizers have said that preparing the place for 60000 people is a bit cumbersome. Making tickets and putting credible security of all these people has proved to be a challenge for them (Siff 2013).Detropia on the other hand grew because of the automobile business that was booming in the place. It attracted more people who were looking for job opportunities from neighboring states and abroad. Public policy in spending money went to the automobile industry at the expense of public good. As the technology improved, most industries became automated forcing workers out off the job. Competition from foreign companies made the city lose a lot of revenues they were collecting from these firms forcing most of them to close (Sugrue 1).

Conclusion

As we have seen from above its important to understand every city's struggles. The comparison enables us draw a credible and concrete conclusion on what builds cities in the world and how improper way of monitoring events may turn a city into ruins. Also, we can conclude that a proper strategy of economic policies in place helps to mitigate the suffering of the weak in society.
