What do you know about American politics and government? 

The United State of America is the second largest in term of its electorate democracy in the world after India. The constitution is the driving engine of the United States politics and the government. The constitution of United State of America has spread power among the three arms of the government which are the executive, legislature and judiciary. The spread of power has been made in such away that each arm can limit the power of another but each arm is independent.

Executive arm of the state

The executive is headed by the president. The president is the head of the government and state at the same time is chief diplomat and military commander-in-chief. The President is elected by the Electoral College and not directly by the voters for a set of 4 years term and can serve for a maximum of two terms.

Legislature

The House of the Representatives is one of the bicameral legislatures and it is the lower chamber. This House was initially intended to be dominated by the political debate but over time the senate has been the dominant institution politically. The lower chamber consists of 435 members and each member represents a congressional district and serves for a 2 years term. The senate is the upper House of the legislature and it consists of 100 members where each member represents a state. There are 50 states and each state is represented by two senators. A senator serves for a 6 years term.

 What is your level of interest in American politics and government?

I highly love to follow the American Politics and Government because being the superpower nation in the globe means that any action or policy implemented is credible to affect all other nations. Furthermore, it serves as the role model to any other nation and all other institutions existing all over the world.

Do you expect this class to change anything about your level of interest in politics? 

Yes, it is probable to change my degree of interest in politics since the United State government had been formed in such away that government and politics co-exists in manner that enhances the humans’ rights and freedom. Hence, it is essential to learn how the two co-exist without harming the country.
