Analysis of three articles

It is essential to respect and observe the already set rules and guidelines at the workplace. To provide this guidance, the firms’ managements outline the company ethics, which have serious consequences in case of violation. Additionally, people should distinguish the language to use at the workplace, and should also respect each other’s cultures to avoid internal conflicts. The workmates should also shun away millennial while at work. As a result, it enhances accordance of proper respect to each other. Additionally, it leads to an upsurge in the production levels because the workers do not waste their time in the romantic relationships at the workplace.
The article, “Language and intercultural communication in the workplace: critical approaches to theory and practice,” published on June 20th 2015, by Hans and Christopher, paints a clear picture, of what goes on in most workplaces. The target audience in the article is the working class people. The different cultures at the workplace increase enmity because people are never willing to let go of their cultural practices, and they cite that incorporation of other cultures leads to weakening of one’s culture (LADEGAARD, 2015). Consequently, those who share the same culture group themselves, where they interact freely thereby creates some barriers. Therefore, to avoid this vice, the management, and the citizenry, in general, should research in depth on linguistic and intercultural practices. It provides a solution to the wide gaps among different people with different cultures.
Nevertheless, people need to interact and socialize freely at the workplace, and alienation based on cultural practices does not provide an ample environment for social interactions. However, experts should increase awareness of the need for intercultural practices because; sometimes one could get employment in a different region with different cultural practices (LADEGAARD, 2015). Therefore, there is the need for flexibility if one needs the employment. Additionally, when looking for employment, people do not choose where to work because mostly they are ever interested in getting a job where they can cater for their daily needs.
People should always bear in mind that communication is essential everywhere because it helps someone to solve conflicts amicably. Communication also helps people to understand each other because they can state one's likes and dislikes. On the other hand, learning institutions should educate their students on the need for intercultural practices because it helps them to interact freely in the workplace. As a result, they go out there at the workplaces with different mindsets about the different cultures thereby enhancing their relationships (LADEGAARD, 2015). Furthermore, instilling good morals in the students concerning the respect of the different cultures helps eradicate the cultural conflicts at the workplace. They also help in spreading the word and knowledge about cultural interactions.
Furthermore, people have known and regarded the international institutions as the only institutions that provide the holistic individuals, who are well rounded. The international institutions enjoy the advantage of having different races with the different cultures. On the other hand, employees usually disregard the students from the national learning institutions because they view them as racists due to their lack of interaction with the different races. Therefore, discrimination also occurs at the employment level because the employees fear the intercultural conflicts among the employees, which lowers the productivity levels.
However, in most cases, the disrespect of the cultures usually happens to the minority of the workplaces. For example, the Whites disregarded the Blacks and the Indians. They argued that the Blacks were illiterate people who needed to change their cultural behaviors for incorporation by the Whites. Additionally, they did not spare the Mexican either due to their skin color. For assimilation in America, the Blacks had to go through the education system in the U.S, and the teachers were Americans. For this reason, the Blacks would never access any employment in the United States, and they would only secure the household chores in the American farms and homes.
Nonetheless, good intercultural practices influence greatly to the achievements of the companies goals. Moreover, it equips the leaders with most of the leadership skills thereby strengthening the company values. Communication also helps in the conveyance of important messages to the people (LADEGAARD, 2015). For this reason, the management should enhance their communication skills and strategies for the other employees to find the messages credible. Additionally, good communication helps organization combine energy and deliberates on the issues affecting them and after that come up with solid decisions. Poor communication hinders effective control in the organizations due to resistance from the employees.
Therefore, people from the minority groups always feel inferior to the others leading to the creation of fear among them. As a result, it inhibits their positive energy to the organizations because they try to fight for their identity and recognition in the workplace. Nevertheless, the citizenry could exterminate this vice. Humanitarian groups should also play a role in this because it becomes very easy to influence the people. It is because; they tend to woo people to believing them due to their social responsibility activities in the communities.

Millennial in the Workplace: A Communication Perspective on Millennial article

Nevertheless, people should observe healthy relationships at the workplaces. Managements discourage romantic relationships because they affect the interactions at the workplaces. Additionally, it could turn out sour if the relationships break and the parties involved try to get revenge on each other. In the article by Karen on March 5th, 2010,” Millennial in the Workplace: A Communication Perspective on Millennial’ Organizational Relationships and Performance,” the outlines the healthy relationships that employees should observe.
The article targets to inform the employees on how one should carry oneself into the workplace to eradicate the challenge. For this reason, people should engage in serious and clear communications at the workplace because most of the relationships thrive due to lack of clear communications between the parties (MYERS, 2010). Nevertheless, the employees should observe careful measures when communicating with each other to avoid conflicts. They should convey the right message in the best way possible to avoid creating a gap between them. Therefore, the management should encourage the employees to feel free with each other to avoid creating enmity, which hinders a peaceful correlation. Additionally, it could affect the productivity levels of an employee due to the conflicts and fear of the employees knowing the issue or resignation of some key employees in the organizations.
However, the relationships and the interactions between the different people in the organization bloom from communication, and how the individuals communicate. In most cases, millennial develop from a range of different aspects, which fuel and motivate the relationships. They include; the different socialization levels from the individuals. Different individuals have different levels of socialization where some people become more social while the others are less social. Therefore, the more social individuals tend to engage in millennial because they easily make friends (MYERS, 2010). . On the other hand, the fewer social persons alienate themselves from the others.
Nevertheless, the advancement in the information and communication also contributes to the millennial. The advancements have helped to ease the challenge of conveying a message to each other. Therefore, some people use it to ask and fuel the relationships even with the workmates. However, the employment expectations and processes of relationship development in the workplace also determine the kind of relationships at the workplace. Therefore, if any organization would like to develop strong and healthy relationships with the people, then they should lay out the proper guidelines on what they expect from the employees concerning the relationships with each other.
However, the transition from the older generations to the new ones has changed greatly. The current generation regards the ways in which the older generation related with each other at the workplace. The current generations base their arguments that things have changed and so should the work relationships. Therefore, in most workplaces, people freely engage in millennial at the workplace. Nevertheless, people have cited some theories in relation to the millennial. First, the expectancy violation theory depicts the individuals on the basis of beliefs and the norms. Therefore, their judgment of an individual determines the relationships between them.
Nonetheless, the employers tend to disregard the millennial workers in most cases because they perceive them as lazy individuals who are only concerned about relationships and not work (MYERS, 2010). Additionally, such workers tend to shy away from the other workers leading to the strained relationships with the fellow workmates. On the other hand, the millennial workers develop a relationship full of uncertainties because they do not trust each other mostly.
Consequently, no one should disregard the millennial workers because the other employees could also learn from them. For instance, the successful relationships portray that it is possible for two workmates to enjoy a healthy relationship and deliver at work. Therefore, they also encourage the other employees to reflect on their social lives thereby bringing up an all-rounded individual. Nonetheless, the millennial employees should exercise caution because if anything goes wrong in their departments, the managements always blame the failure on the relationships.
Conversely, millennial encourage proper communication at the workplace. They prefer positive and frequent communication with their seniors. As a result, they encourage healthy work relations thereby eradicating fears and stereotypes that exist among the other subordinates concerning the supervisors. However, the leaders in the organizations should exercise caution when dealing with the millennial because they usually get agitated in the management does not give them the recognition they want (MYERS, 2010). Therefore, proper understanding is necessary because it avoids and minimizes the internal wrangles in the organizations. The leaders should learn how to handle such people because in most circumstances, the parents and the teachers of the millennial praise them and always recognize them.
However, the organization’s managements should also put pressure on the millennial because they relax and become lazy. For this reason, the management should set goals and targets that propel such people to work hard in order to meet the target. However, the leaders with the great communication skills should convey the management’s message to them to avoid getting into conflicts. As a result, they receive the messages positively thereby creating an ample relationship with them. Additionally, the healthy relationships with the other coworkers motivate them to work harder, and they also get involved in most activities. Therefore, proper communications positively affect the relationships and the performance of the entities.

Electronic Communications at the Workplace-Something’s got to give article

The technology advancements have helped many organizations increase their efficacy in communication. Electronic communications is faster than the other means of communication; therefore, it reduces the traveling costs that employees incur when moving from one place to another to deliver the messages. Additionally, electronic communication helps firms to save time and use it in other productive activities thereby increasing the profitability.
Nevertheless, Kenneth, Sandra, Tamar, Kevin, and Roy outlined the challenges that most employees face through the use of the electronic communication channels. Therefore, they authored the article in 2000, “Electronic Communication in the Workplace-Something’s Got to Give,” to shed some light on the electronic communication entails. In most cases, the employers take advantage of the employees by exploiting them through the intrusion of their privacy, for instance, gaining access to personal emails (KOVACH,et al., 2000). As a result, controversy arose on whether the employers have the right to access the employees’ emails.
Consequently, many employees do not deter the employers from intruding to the emails because most of them do not understand their rights fully, especially, the right to privacy. For this reason, the labor parties and the humanitarian organizations should help in advocating the right to privacy among the employees. Additionally, the experts should increase awareness of the rights one should enjoy at the workplace because it would help the employee make the right decisions concerning accessing of the emails.
Nonetheless, in most cases, the employers who gain access to the employees’ personal emails feel threatened that the individual could leak some important information to the competitors. Moreover, they could also plan against the employers thereby increasing the urge in the employers to get updated information from the employees. Nevertheless, most of the public employees enjoy privacy because the constitution outlines the provisions (KOVACH,et al., 2000). On the other hand, the private sector employees have suffered greatly from the intrusion from the employers. For this reason, the employers feel safe because the constitution does not provide for the private sector employees.
Therefore, there is need to legislate the constitution to accommodate the private sector companies. It protects all people from intrusion into the private life at the workplaces, and especially by the employers. However, the citizenry and the company managements should not overlook the malicious practices by some of the employees. Some employees could go to the extent of misusing the internet services provided and maintained by the employers leading to the company incurring extra costs thereby reducing the profitability levels of the companies. However, the employers should engage in proper monitoring of the employees personal emails, for instance, the management could hire and independent body, and obligate it to conduct the frequent monitoring.
Nevertheless, the law prohibits access of some information from the employees’ emails. For instance, it is wrong for the internet providers to reveal personal information to unauthorized bodies because it is a breach of a contract. On the other hand, the law outlines the circumstances under which the employers should seek and access employees’ personal emails (KOVACH,et al., 2000). As a result, it reduces the internal wrangles between the employees and the employers leading to an ample working environment thereby increasing the productivity level and motivation among the employees.
Nonetheless, the law of tort recognizes to privacy of the private sector employees, and it outlines the circumstances under which the employers cannot access the personal emails. However, the provisions of the law are shallow leaving a wide a gap for the intrusion of the employees by their employers. For this reason, people have come out to challenge the monitoring of the electronic communications at the workplace by the employers. Additionally, they asked for the legislation of the rules, which needed to provide guidelines for electronic communication monitoring (KOVACH,et al., 2000). The action was agitated by the ECPA weakness and the increased employees’ rights awareness.
However, the business owners and employers present some critical issues in most businesses that require monitoring to help in the increase in the productivity levels and minimize expenses. On the other hand, the employer's actions turn out unethical due to the intrusion of personal information and the employees could also behave unethically by misusing the company internet and communication resources. For this reason, both parties have a role to play in ensuring that each party upholds acts responsibly at the workplace. Additionally, the employers should also bear in mind that the intrusion only fuels conflict between them and the employees.
Therefore, the employers should exercise caution in the access of the electronic communication because it can result in court issues, which lead to a financial burden on the firms. On the other hand, the employees should portray their social responsibility by avoiding hate speech and misuse of the company resources for a peaceful coexistence at the workplace.
