Is Russia authoritarian, democratic or something else?

It is not a secret that there is no pure system of government all over the world what has become a result of the different transformations and developing of political systems and Russian Federation is not an exclusion but the question is whether the Constitution and legally adopted laws of the RF show real state of affairs.
According to the Constitution of Russia it is a presidential republic. Generally republics are understood to be one of democratic form of governments. But in every particular case we shall put attention to the details in order to decide.
It would be easier to come to the conclusion on the type of regime in Russia through checking the requirements of non-democratic regimes and real political situation in Russia.
The government in Russia claims that they have free and fair elections. At the latest elections in 2012 V. Putin received 63,64 per cents of votes. The elections were recognized as not fair and unjust by European Parliament because of different machinations and use of governmental power against opponents of current president of Russia.
There is also a limited right for meetings in RF. All meetings that were recognized as inappropriate were forced to come to an end with use of force lately.
There also a“Tandemocracy” in Russia. “More importantly althout power formally passed from Putin to Medvedev, it was unclear whether the power had really changed hands”(Samuels 296).
It seems to be very suspicious that D. Medvedev had no desire to fight for the second presidential period and that he assigned Putin as a Prime Minister almost immediately after taking his seat of the president.
Some scientists have even named regime in Russia as “ruled democracy”. “Ruled democracy” is characterized as having little influence of regional elites and big businesses to the politics, direct or indirect control over mass media, liquidation of separation of powers, usage of “administrative resources” in the election process.
According to the Freedom House report made in 2015 Russia is not a free country. And it is one more reason due to which we consider that Russian Federation is rather a “ruled democracy” than a democracy. It is much more authoritarian that Russians and people over the world would like it to be. And what is really bad is that things are not going to be better soon.
