One of major causes of HIV increased transition is needle sharing amongst drug users. In the past, there have been various programs that promoted the safe needle use. One of such programs is needle syringe program (NSP) that has proved to be effective in many countries including Germany. The population that NSP is targeting includes male population in prison. In some cases, vending machines that sell of exchange syringes are distributed in prisons. Due to that, results show significant decrease in HIV transition.
