First Post Evaluation

The first post lacks formality. For instance, the section “count me in, folks” and “hot title” is informal considering that the publisher is looking to do business. The writer’s tone should portray self-assurance and confidence unlike as in the text “. I thought it would be a neat thing if”. In addition, the message is not clear nor is it specific. For example,” I’ve done hundreds of advertising illustrations and have been a sign painter all my life” doesn’t precisely tell what specific illustrations the painter did leaving it incomplete.

First Post Revision

I am a new publisher selling great books that I would like show at your bookseller show this summer. I saw your announcement in Publishers Weekly, and I want you to reserve a space for me. To promote my new outstanding title, T-shirt art, I will be delighted to showcase my airbrushing techniques that I have perfected throughout my life. Experience in life comes with time (Langan and Winstanley 45). I will also be promoting my new book, How to Make Money in the Sign Painting Business.

Second Post

In the second post, the write lacks conviction in his books ability to be popular by August. When the writer says, “soon in the near future”, it gives an unclear and unspecific time frame for the start of hi PR campaign. The writer should give a clear date or estimated time for the beginning of the campaign.

Third Post

The tone in the third post ought to be appreciative, and enthusiastic about the bookseller show. As much as the message requires a response the respondent will be hesitant as the writer seems to be very pessimistic. However, being optimistic always gives life the energy it needs (Farr 76).
