Impact of Drake in Canada
Drake, through his album that says, “Started from the bottom, now the whole team here,” (Krewen) shows how he has had an influence on many people in Canada. Those who got inspired included the Toronto-based songwriters, beat-makers, producers as well as the other collaborators. From his singing, he has inspired many people in Canada as well as the young generation to join into hip-hop music industry.
Being the first ever recipient of the SOCAN’s Global Inspiration Award, Drake was given this award for his generosity in bringing his Toronto-centric crew along for a ride. He has also made how producers to be famous in the whole music industry, the likes of Noah “40” Shebib and Boi-1da (Mathew Samuels). Because of connection with Drake, Bo-1da has been able to work with the other world-class singers like Jay-Z, Eminem, Nick Minaj, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Flo Rida, Rick Ross, Lil’ Wayne among other American hip hop rappers.
When Drake was serving as the Host of the Excellence Sports Performance Yearly Awards (ESPYs), he was overwhelmed all over on social media especially in twitter, trending with a hashtag #ESPYs and @Drake, thus making the athletes known. This made him receive an award in Allan Slaight Award for being philanthropic to the community.
