Example Of Essay On A Discussion Of My Short-Term AND Long-Term Goals, Their Relatedness AND Priorities

As a matter of fact, each one of us has something they really yearn to accomplish both in the short and long run at least at some point of their life. These are what we call life goals and greatly determine our purpose in life, what we are and what we become later in life. They could be professional career, retirement, financial, family, health, personal, or academic objectives that give our lives direction and enable us to achieve and boost our self-confidence, zeal and motivation. Short term goals are to be achieved almost immediately or in the very near future while long term goals are those that are intended to be achieved much later in life. Some of them may be related, but the priority of realizing them may vary or differ. This is a descriptive story of my short and long term goals.
On the other hand, as one of the major long term goals, I plan to take my soccer skills a notch higher by plying for Puerto Rico Women Soccer national team. I am working extra hard now to make it to the Under 18 Soccer Team of Boca United in order to accomplish my goal of being the best goalkeeper. Evidently, these goals are related since achieving one will automatically enable me to accomplish the other.
For now, my main priority among these goals is to successfully graduate from University since it is not only five months away from now, but also signals the end of a very long and cumbersome journey after years of hard work and sacrifice. Also, I wish to keep my High School friends because I have already lost one of my best friends before the school term even began and I would not want that to happen again. It was as though I had lost a part of me and due to that experience I have now made it my goal to stay with people I have spent most of my life and time with.
Furthermore, graduating from University with a bachelor degree in languages is another goal I plan to accomplish in the next one year. In addition, after completion of my college and subsequently graduating, I plan to travel or tour the world and see the places I have ever read about during my academic life. I want to have a personal direct experience of the cultures of different countries instead of being informed by the media. After completing all these plans, I am planning to return to Puerto Rico once and for all because I have always believed that in order for a country to recover and develop; its populace must contribute to this.
