Usability testing is an important aspect of any system. The tests help in ascertaining if the users of the system are able to discern and extract the required information about the system. In the process system under scrutiny, there are various ways in which one would test the instructions given. It should be noted that before conducting the test, the team that has been tasked with this responsibility should be organized.
One way that would be used to test usability would be by choosing a sample from the population of the people who interact with the system. A number of people can be chosen from the population and asked how they feel when interacting with the system. Their challenges can be noted and hitches identified in any part of the process. This method is appropriate as it can help identify parts in the process that can be improved. In addition, the time taken by each participant to complete the process should be put into perspective to ensure that users use the least possible time to complete registration.
Another way that could be used to test the usability of the user would be debriefing of the users after they have gone through the process. This includes all people who have previously used the system and have completed it. The need of using this test is to get the general view of the processes that took hard to complete and the challenges in each part of the process.
The findings are very beneficial to the any changes in the instructions. The rationale is that all recommendations and challenges will be corrected and the system will be improved to suit all users of the system.
