SECTION ONE

Prevention through government regulation
The restriction of alcohol sales- The government should restrict alcohol sales to specific hours.
Examples:
Bars and pubs should be restricted from selling alcohol beverages on weekdays until after 4 p.m. when people usually get from work. This should continue up to a time such as 12 or 1 a.m.

During the weekends, alcohol sales should start at approximately 1 p.m

Effect:
The restriction of alcohol sale hours will prompt people who only think about drinking to first engage in constructive activities at the time when alcohol sales are outlawed (Casswell & Thamarangsi, 2009).
Introduction of random alcohol Breathalyzer tests for drivers. A huge number of those who drink in Korea own cars and on many occasions, many of them will make their way to their favorite bar where they will drink themselves into a stupor and then later on drive themselves home. These people are officially a danger to themselves and to others. The placement of traffic stops along major roads where drivers would be required to go through Breathalyzer tests would encourage people to cut short on their drinking because if they are found to have exceeded the allowable alcohol level, they will be subjected to legal punishment including imprisonment.

Setting up of rehab and support centers for alcohol addicts where experts can assist them to overcome their problem.

These centers should be funded by the government and should take a proactive approach in trying to educate the public about the dangers of drinking (Anderson, Chisholm & Fuhr, 2009).
