Standardized testing case study contained information about standard tests. Their main purpose, design and implementation in real life. The main purpose of the study is to assess and study early childhood kid’s educational progress. Study contained three different type of standardized testing. They are achievement tests, aptitude test and intelligence test. Each of these has its own purpose. Achievement test is used to examine individual progress in acquiring certain information. This test points out if individual has risen his potential in differential skills. Aptitude test is usually used to tell if person has hidden potential in certain area. It can predict person’s future aspects in job. For example if individual love animals and want to help them, he might become a vet doctor in future. Intelligence test are commonly used to predict if person is having learning perspective. Person can have troubles facing different information, or can go off path. Many circumstances can affect this, so this test tells points out when person is having trouble (what level and what actions needed to be used).
Standardized testing usually focus preschoolers (infants) and students. Test for preschoolers (infants) are usually made for identifying and diagnosing developmental problems. This test show if individual is having any kind of disabilities. Early treatment can prevent negative effects and show cure. There are two types of tests for students: national and state. National is mainly used for government. It focuses on comparing results in different areas and implements new ideas how to fix its weaknesses. State is used for student itself. These tests usually take record of how student is doing, points his/her weaknesses, and gives advice how to adjust them.
There are some challenges which standardized testing might face. First one is - do these test provide real evaluation? Can these test predict if person don’t have any potential in certain area? He or she might have hidden potential, which can wake up in any moment. Second is – are this tests always right? Is there any mistakes inside the test? This can change person’s evaluation.
