Africa Investing In Developing Africa's Young People Essays Example

Over the last ten years, African countries have topped to the list of world leaders on economic growth and are going to even strengthen its trend in the next decade. Nevertheless, the issue of low investment in human capital at high rates of economic growth hinders the development of African countries.
Sub-Saharan Africa is facing serious challenges of population growth and urbanization, and need to meet the educational and livelihood needs of both youth and adults. There are about 350 million of young people who are challenging for their future. Since the French-speaking youth of sub-Saharan Africa is the key point of further development of the countries, there should be provided appropriate policies, legislative measures, funding and implementation.
90% of young people believe that they live better than their parents do. It means they are optimistic and believe that the key to a successful future is education. However, despite the fact that the majority of young people believe they have a real entrepreneurial spirit, it is difficult to gain access to seed capital for them to start a business.
Since African youth is at a higher risk of sexually transmitted diseases, heath maintains one of the key problems. It is worth noticing that over the past 10 years due to great medicine advancement, the mortality rate in the group of adolescents and young adults tends to lower.
Economic problems and unemployment are still the source of enduring concern. To develop and implement educational and health policies together with related programs there must be a sustainable cooperation between the public and private sectors, communities, civil society and development partners.
Young people need to be shown that they are the center of the governmental attention and a constant dialogue requires to be held so that the government can share with the youth views and help their development. Youth and adults should be actively involved in the preparation and implementation of training programs.
