Aviation Safety Article Review Example
The importance of aviation safety is hard to overestimate. I am sure that safety should and further in the future will be ensured through an integrated approach that combines legal, technical and organizational measures. These include the functioning of aviation security services, airport security, civil aviation facilities and aircraft security, prevention and suppression of attempts of highjack.
Furthermore, in my opinion, in the future for each airport its individual technical solutions will be developed. The development of the safety concept of a particular airport will be necessarily based on a study of conditions-based features, geography, aircraft operations, the types of aircraft, the volume of passengers, freight traffic and other factors.
The quality of aviation safety will be increasing year by year, along with the pace of technological progress. In the process of developing aviation safety, the role of companies-developers of security systems will be increasing. This will happen because such companies will be able to provide the latest technical solutions. This will solve the problem of outdated safety facilities and will bring new opportunities to get to know about the latest scientific and technical developments in the field of aviation safety. Overall, I believe that in the future, aviation safety will be increasing.
On the contrary, Paul D. Russell believes that in the future airline safety will decline further. The main factor that he states is the fact that more and more aircraft are added to the global fleet annually. Among other factors, which the researcher considers to be the reasons that endanger aviation safety are “flight crew experience, weather forecasting, approach and navigation aids, runway condition and length, whether the route is domestic or international, and cultural differences”. As the ways-out of declining level of aviation security he names “improvements in aircraft design, maintenance, air traffic control and basic piloting skills”.
