Free Essay About Federalists - Anti-Federalists Debate
If I were a member of a new constitutional congress, I would support the adoption of the federal system that is currently in place. However, I would like to make some changes in the constitution of the United States of America related to the tax system and possession of guns.
In my opinion, the tax system must be eradicated, reduced, or if that is not possible; it must be increased to higher levels for the wealthy people. I believe that poor people must not be taxed as much as people who have money. This is because there is a great difference between their earnings and income levels and it is not reasonable to receive tax money on an equal basis. In the present times, one of the most important improvements that must be made is the reformation in tax system.
According to my understanding, tax reform can bring revival changes in the laboring economy. It astonishes me that even though many people agree on the renewal of tax system; both the Congress as well as the President is reluctant in signing a bill concerning tax reform. I think that the political entities in the country do not give much concentration to the importance of this policy because American citizens and lawmakers do not pressurize the government. It is very unfortunate that the government has failed to improve the standard of living of American families.
Tax reform is frequently referred as an advantageous step for the improvement of country’s economic efficiency. However, it must be given importance in the context of being beneficial for families that are consistently making efforts to make both ends meet. Therefore, it is necessary for the advocates of tax reform to present the public demand in a well-defined manner to compel the government to act and take steps for reforming tax. The government must be made known regarding the importance of reforming the tax system for innumerable American families. The present tax system is inflicting damaging effects on the families as the tax code imposes extremely high rates. It also shows biasness against investment and saving as well as does not judge the winner and losers correctly. As a consequence, people in America are not able to involve themselves in activities important to increase affluence and establish security.
As far as my opinion regarding gun control is concerned, I consider it a very sensitive and dangerous issue. I believe that right of carrying guns must be controlled. Nevertheless, if anyone really needs to carry or possess a gun, it must be under serious conditions and must have license. In the modern-day American society, many people have private guns and other armaments. This issue has gained much popularity in the recent times as a majority of American own unregistered firearms in large numbers. As an opponent gun ownership, I would demand the authorities to put a ban on it if I were a member of constitutional Congress. My demand would be based on the fact that guns are responsible for life loss and other physical harms. Thus, it is necessary to seriously address this issue for the avoidance of harm and loss to people. I don’t think that it is correct to own guns as a right. However, if a person likes to own guns, the possession must be made licensed and legal with every aspect. I would say that gun ownership is a right if it is owned by a law abiding citizen.
Licensing guns is also essential as presence of guns in a household or domestic setting is dangerous for the members. There have been many incidences throughout the years whereby people shot others accidentally. There have been many cases on unintentional deaths due to the presence of firearms at homes and other settings. In recent years, a lot of people have been reported to commit suicide as the availability of guns was easy for them. The extensiveness of gun ownership has also contributed in the incidences of domestic violence in the American society. Considering all these factors, I would like to change the policies concerning gun ownership in the current constitution. It is the high time for authorities to address this issue vigorously as guns have become a fatal means to take lives of people, both knowingly and unknowingly.
All in all, I believe that the most important changes required to be made in the present constitution are concerned with tax system and gun control. I am sure that the presented suggestions would make America a better place to live.
