ORGANIZATIONAL TRANSFORMATION Q & A

Roles of Incentives, Training, and Education in Promoting Innovation in an Organization
Innovation refers to new ideas, products and methods. Innovation is defined as the process of transforming, altering or improving on existing technologies or processes. Innovation is very crucial in any organization as they aid in the growth process. The aim of my organization, like many others, is to have more efficient processes, cut on costs and have maximum output. Innovation is an engine for all this and organizational change, in the long run (Viljoen, 2014).
Without an education system, incentives and training, there may not be sufficient innovations coming up. Incentives are crucial in aiding innovation. When individuals in an organization receive proper incentives, they are more willing to accept and adapt to changes as they occur in the organization. An example in our organization is an instance where the sales people were offered higher commissions when a new product line was introduced.
Education and training are also important in aiding innovation because it adequately prepares the employees for the changes that take place due to innovation and their changing roles with regard to the changes. Education and training are also used to enlighten the employees of the organization on the importance of change and innovation and also makes them more confident to deal and adapt to the changes (Viljoen, 2014).

Role of Leadership in Creating, Managing, and Sustaining Innovation in your Organization

Without proper leadership, implementation of innovation might not be successful. The leadership in an organization plays an important role in motivating the staff of a company and keeping them focused on the vision of the organization. Whenever there is organizational development in the company, it I the role of the CEO to communicate the resulting roles of the employees to them as well as make them understand the reasons for such changes. The leadership provides inspiration to the employees to support the innovations that a company undertakes (Viljoen, 2014).
In our organization, the leadership is constantly communicating to us the mission, vision and core values of the company and how the changes that take place are related to them. The management also works towards ensuring that the employees maintain an attitude that is positive at all times.

Ethical Implications of an Individual Reward System

An individual reward system can have both ethical and unethical implications depending on how it is implemented. When rewards are given on a merit basis and as a tool for motivation, the resultant ethical implications are positive. Such a reward system works towards motivating individuals to meet the goals of the organization. The implications may be negative where monetary rewards lead individuals to go beyond the ethical scope in order to receive high compensation. An organization must, therefore, be very keen on the channels and strategies that are put in place when implementing an individual reward system (Viljoen, 2014).

Conclusion

I would consider our organization innovative. This is because we have in place a very able and strong leadership team that can motivate us to align with the changes that take place in the company. Secondly, we have scheduled trainings that the staff attends so as to be abreast with any organizational developments. The company also offers scholarships for higher education to employees that require such education to perform new duties and roles. Our organization embraces change and empowers the employees to be agents of such change.
