Free Ethical Principles In Psychology Critical Thinking Example

One of the primary tasks of a professional psychologist is to resolve different kinds of ethical dilemmas related to human growth and development. In the field of psychology, it is almost natural for every psychologist to offer their patients the best available choices for them to provide self-growth and improvement. There are actually tons of alternatives that a person is capable to choose for their personal growth; however, psychologists are the ones who can guide each of us to the right path and to build a strong character within ourselves. Despite the assistance that they give to each of us, there are still ethical principles involved between the two parties, and one of the most important ethical principles for psychologists is integrity.
Human actions and behaviors are very critical and impulsive, depending on the situation that may arise. Thus, every psychologist must ensure for an accurate and precise teaching and advice for their patients. According to American Psychological Association (APA), every psychologist must commit themselves to their patients. They must always remember that they are professional individuals whom are trusted by their patients. They must try their best to take good care for their patients and must always strive for honesty and full-commitment with their work. Thus, for them, integrity can be associated with their full-responsibility towards other people.
One of the crucial works of psychologists is to gain the trusts of their patients. Their job is simply a two-way process for understanding and taking the responsibility of each other. Hence, a psychologist may not be successful with his task if a person does not provide a full commitment with him. Gaining trust to someone takes a certain amount of time. For example, a patient must ensure that all his conversations with the psychologist are accurate and factual so as to provide him with the best possible choices and conditions that he may receive from the professional psychologist. Basically, an honest and precise conversation is all it takes for the two parties to succeed with their goals for growth and improvement.
