Abstract: The development of rail transport and its innovative activity, as well as susceptibility to technological innovation is a key issue for American society. The modern innovative activity of the municipal transport management systems is a factor that provides a significant competitive advantage and helps to strengthen and expand its influence on the market. Traffic in Los Angeles is a well-developed and includes different means of transportation (Bottles 1987) that, however, cannot deal sufficiently with heavy ridership problems of public transport, in particular subway and railway traffic. The solution to satisfy growing needs and problems of public transport in Los Angeles is magnetic levitation trains implemented in subway and railway systems. It’s promising technology, which can provide the further innovations in traffic system and also deal with current ecological and energy efficiency problems. Moreover, by reducing the technological potential the traffic system in Los Angeles can lost the ability to adapt new technological developments, and this will inevitably lead to a deterioration of market position and to reduce the volume of services provided.
Findings: The best way to improve traffic system in Los Angeles is Maglev. Speed achieved by magnetic levitation train, comparable to the speed of the aircraft and allows competing with air travel in the short- and medium-directions (up to 1000 km). The idea of such transport is not new, economic and technical constraints did not allow it to turn to the full: for public use technology embodied only a few times. Currently, the maglev cannot use the existing transport infrastructure in Los Angeles, but there are projects that can make arrangements of magnetic elements between the rails ordinary railway or highway under canvas.
Hypothesis: Los Angeles’ subway system is the ninth busiest in the United States and its light rail system is the country's second busiest, so it’s obvious that with the development of technologies traffic system needs sufficient improvement. The main question of the research was whether it is possible to find the most efficient technology for upgrading railway system in Los Angeles. The answer is positive and the solution for improvement heavy ridership problems of subway and railway system is magnetic levitation trains.

The current situation in traffic system of Los Angeles needs sufficient and well-developed solution to reduce heavy ridership problems in subway and railway transportation (Metro research 2014).
Magnetic levitation train is considered one of the most promising means of transport of the future. From conventional trains and monorails magnetic levitation train differ by complete lack of wheels, but through the action of magnetic forces (Heller 1998). As a result, the speed of movement of the train can reach 400 km/h, and in some cases such transport can replace the plane. At present, there is only one project of magnetic road, also called Transrapid (Yadav 2013), which can be taken as an example for traffic improvement in Los Angeles.
There are many innovations and projects for building Maglev, but the main task for their creators is to attract investors to build it in Los Angeles. The problem of financing itself is essential for this kind of innovative transportation, but it can be solved with governmental and local business support (Coates 2004).
