The form of government. India is a parliamentary republic; Pakistan belongs to the republics with mixed form of government. Territorial-administrative division. Pakistan is a Federal Republic, which includes four provinces, two federal territories and two Pakistani territory of Kashmir (Pakistan also possesses actually a part of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir). India is also a federal republic but consists of the states and union territories. Twenty-eight states are formed by national and linguistic principles. Seven union territories, which have fewer rights than states are managed by the center.
The current ruling party. India - Indian National Congress, ideology - progressivism, social democracy, secularism (concept, in which the government should exist separately from the religion). Pakistan - Pakistan Muslim League, ideology - conservatism, Islamism. Obviously, one could argue that the current ruling parties of both countries profess radically different political outlooks and principles.
Religion. This is probably the indicator, which shows the greatest difference between neighbors. In Pakistan (officially called the Islamic Republic of Pakistan) Islam is the state religion, the President and Prime Minister must be Muslims. However, India is a country with a great variety of religious groups, although the major can be identified among them - about 80% of the population are Hindus.

Pakistan vs. Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a unitary state composed of seven divisions, each of which bears the name of the largest city in its district.

The Senate is the upper house of parliament of Pakistan. It includes 100 deputies elected by the lower house of the federal parliament and provincial legislatures. The National Assembly is the lower house of the parliament of Pakistan. It consists of 342 deputies, of which 272 are elected by secret ballot, with 60 seats are given to women and 10 - religious minorities. However, Bangladesh has a bicameral parliamentary system. There are totally 345 parliamentary seats, including 45 specially reserved seats for women deputies; the elections are held in single-mandate constituencies.
The current ruling party. Pakistan - Pakistan Muslim League, ideology - conservatism, Islamism. Bangladesh - Bangladesh Awami League, ideology - Bengali nationalism, secularism, socialism. We can see that political ideology of Bangladesh ruling party is very close to Indian National Congress. It means that the basic political principles are largely different from main political players of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
