According to Whittemore, the classical liberalism ideology was born in Spain and France in the early 1800’s. One of the fathers of classical liberalism was John Locke, whose writings created the foundation for the government of the United States of America. The core belief of classical liberalism was the necessity of liberty for each individual. This liberty encompassed freedom of speech, press and assembly.
