Earth surface is composed of metals and non-metallic substances that are visible and invincible in the eye of many people. There are non-toxic and toxic for both human and animals. One of these highly toxic chemical elements are the Be (Beryllium) and Pb (Lead).
Both of these chemical elements are grayish in color when expose to air. Their salt forms are highly toxic but usually taste sweet. They are both can be combined to any other substances. And, it can create another useful product. Thus, these elements play a very important role in industrial, aerospace, and construction materials. Just as the Beryllium, when it combines with copper, iron and aluminum, it becomes rigid and perfect for some technology tools. So as the Lead, when it combines with copper and antimony, it becomes rigid and resistance to sulfuric acid. Using these comparisons of different elements, we can determine the benefits and disadvantages of the said chemical elements.
Thus, we can also site their differences- How they become different from each other and the effects to human and animals.
Beryllium is a very rare elements and lightweight of which become the main material for missiles and satellites. It is also the component for x-ray and highly sensitive binoculars. This type of elements can be very active when it combines with other metallic elements. It become rigid and functions differently as unexpected, just as, it accumulates in the soil. Naturally, the Beryllium can stay longer in the soil that sometimes is use for measuring the length of soil eroded. It can also determine the soil formation and its lateric development. However, the presence of Boron can quickly diminish the Beryllium content in the soil. Actually, the Lead element has similar reaction with the Beryllium when combine with other substances. It can create new products, both highly sensitive and less active. In terms of color, the two elements are in grayish form when it oxidizes. They become rigid metals when they are combined with copper, antimony and aluminum. Moreover, they become highly reactive when they are paired with halogens and acids.
Just as the Beryllium, the Lead is also use in Roman ancient time. They use the Lead as one component for building brick walls and smelting irons for various equipments.
In terms of human health, these two elements can create a lifetime deformities. It can stay in the body for more years and slowly deteriorates the life span of human. It can cause various illness and complications that leads to death especially the children.
But on the contrary, these elements have differences. The Beryllium is part of the alkaline element, while the Lead is in transitional metal, which is very malleable compared to most metal group. Secondly, the first element again, is lightweight type while the Lead is the heaviest non-radioactive element. They carry different numbers of protons; first, one has only four atoms while the lead has 82 atoms. Third, there are a few incident reports about the Beryllium poisoning than Lead poisoning because Lead element is more vulnerable when mixed with other substances. Actually, they both have differences on extremely point. This would make them unique and rare at some point.
