Country musicCountry is believed to be an American genre that is derived from popular music that came from the southern part of United States, Georgia and Atlanta in the way back 1920s. Its roots were taken from the southern America’s folk music. It usually contains the ballads and dances tunes that are simple and accompanied by the Guitars, Electric and Bangos among the string instruments. Peterson 1999-12-15).Pop musicPop music this term originally derived from popular and that it is believed to be a popular music. Its origin is in the modern form of the 1950s and was got from the rock and roll. Being a genre, the pop music often borrows elements from other styles like dance, Latin, dance, and country. We have many elements that describe pop. They include short medium songs that are written in a basic format and the commonly employed the repeated chorus, tunes that are melodic and their hooks.( Borack,2007).Comparing the two genres Country and Pop, the result is that the two genres are very different not only in their various sounds but also the values they uphold. The country genre is well known for its storytelling artists. When one takes a look at the two sets of lyrics tabulated from the artist of choice the pattern set is very clear. In the country genre, the lyrics are rich in the message they carry and are rarely repetitive as compared to the pop lyrics that are full of repetition of words. Country music derives its rich lyrics from its origin that is the USA country folk. It is a genre that upholds culture and respect of society norms, this type of music are naturally soft because it is performed using basic musical instruments like the acoustic guitar. Richard A. (1999-12-15).Pop, on the other hand, is a genre that is well known for its drums, and loud voices on a music level pop are made simpler. For example, a lot of pop songs follow a simple four chord structure and usually end on a lyrical level, they are simple and sing-along songs. This genre is now considered to be the genre that generates more money for the artist as compared to every other genre. It boasts of the big names in the music industry. This genre has of late overshadowed the other genres and has captured most of the youth today. Pop has poor lyrics because most of the time it’s not about the message being transmitted but about the beat and how good it sounds to one's ears. The genre possesses lyrics that appear to be on a merry go round format as they are a repetition of words from the start to finish. John M. (2007).Coming to the artist chosen in this review, one clearly can see the compromise that this artist has changed to pop music. Miss Taylor Swift has been a soft, soothing musician who has entertained millions with her acoustic sound and melody, but all that has changed has she has taken to pop with her album entitled “1989”. The lyrics depicted above from her hit song “shake it off” from the album 1989 have clearly shown the difference between the two genres. Especially that her music has gone from storytelling that makes the listeners feel part of the story mostly because they can relate to that story to that of repetitive lyrics. The lyrics may have some meaning but very difficult to get because the lyrics are overshadowed by the noise of the drums and the repetition of phrases. Borack, John M. (2007). Her two songs picked here “tear drops on my Guitar” and “Shake it off” are very different because in the song that falls in the county genre the artist does not repeat any statements. The chorus that is not the case in the pop song that does not repeats the statement “that’s what people say” just when the song starts. The language in the two genres is also very different the country language is more native to the country folk while pop language is informal and sometimes provocative. It is very difficult to come across a country song that has swearing words, but almost 1 in every 20 pop songs has inappropriate words. Pop also has some terminologies that can only be understood by an audience of a particular age group. This means that it restricts itself to a particular generation, and that is not the case with the country. That can be understood and appreciated by people of all ages, granted country also has some terminologies that may sound odd to non-country folk but unlike pop they are not swearing and provocative words. The words are just in the vocabulary of the country folk. Borack, John (2007).Miss Swift has taken a step that has been criticized by many because of the kind of values portrayed by those in the pop genre. She is caught up in the mix of fame and morals which others before her like Miley Cyrus have gone through. this has caused fans and reporters to speak a lot about what Swift is doing and well or bad it will work for her.In the picture below, the genre samples that were taken from the Wardle summarizes the twenty songs that are sung by different people. We have the familiar words like love, right, crazy, rude, like, know, cause, never, marry and many more. The picture gives a summary of what information the singers wanted to portray in their songs. The genres and the cross over seem to be different in the vocabulary that they both show and this means that they are both from the different settings. The genre seems to be acted from freestyle life just for the love, marriage, and other crazy things. But the writer never gives direction on any life or any other thing he or she does in the songs. In some extracts of other we can clearly see what the author is concentrating about in their songs. The parts of the genre give gives the evidence to the argument that these genres speak about love and arguments with policy. That brings conflicts among them and finally hate will come, but the writer doesn’t seem to fight for the life except for love and women.
The second genre discusses Godly things like going to church praising God that he is always around, and he heals the sick, that we should depend on him and the he know everything that happens in us.In comparison of the two genres, we depict some distinct similarities and differences in both of them. Good example of terms of reference and the two genres have not according to the Wardle referred to people too much in the genres. Endearment has shown itself in both genres since they have come out in their style calling people love, baby, girl and more others. Both the genres have not dwelled much on greetings nor the clothing. We also see that both the two genres do not address in countries or places, clothing or any weapons. These shows how their set up is derived from the background that never minds and only sings on the basis of enjoying but not giving out a lesson.Always when a songwriter sings there should be an intention or an aim of conveying a particular message. These messages might differ basing on the set up of a particular background. Both genres above have portrayed differently about their feeling to the society. Good example is basing on the Wardle extraction words, in a genre one the author talks about being crazy, marriage, love, light, baby and many more other. These words describe the setting of the music and the musicians. The same applies to the second genre where the author talks about the same love, tried, crazy, but this time adds places like Texas. In the above two genres, there is a sign of a relation since both the genres have approached the world from the same perspective, and there is no mention of the future preparation of changing things. This is what distinguishes the two genres from the cross over country that is well arranged and walks over the visionary ways of changing unto better as a sign of struggle. These extract of the genre two will also show us that these two genres both dwell on the love matters and that there is no scene of fighting through in life:What we see here is that the writer is trying to praise a woman that he loves, and there is evidence that the author of the song could be someone a drunkard. That is according to the lyrics. We, therefore, get a distinct that genres are sung with the intention of laxity and enjoyment in life. The use of wealth to get the love that they deserve and drink and enjoy to their fullest show how wealth is the background of the songwriters.
Cross overOn the word cloud in a crossover genre, we get the above the genre talks about haters and hate. About the Heartbreakers, moves, hate, shakes, dancing and people but it has not used the abusive words greetings and many other that are mentioned in the instructions but it rather duels on positive thinking. The crossover discusses further how one heart breaks and how the writer of the song will keep on fighting without losing hope. As many other crossovers, this combination also depicts the information from all other genres that we have samples of our work. It combines both the country and the information in pop genres. For example, the crossover uses the words like Heartbreakers, haters, moves, fakes and many more. The artist in the crossover has not been mischaracterized since most of his songs as we see in the depicted words above. The words are generally about the real life in the world today whereby there are love and heartbreaks and the he continues saying that we should get going no matter the haters we have. In the example below we can analyze about what people say about the music and the one who sing:The here tries to tell us on how he strains too much, and yet people can’t stop talking ill about that. But again the writer of the song says that he can’t stop moving means that he will keep on fighting until everything is alright. The other broad deference to the other two genres is that, in this the background of the author must have been bad and bad that he sings on how he has suffered on heart breaks in the past. On the other hand, he still fights back life to become a better one. When you compare the two genres to this crossover, you will notice a difference in them since the crossover dwells on how to attack life and try to change the situation. This  is no matter how hard it will be there must be right before surrenderingWord cloud images are always the depiction of the most used words in the lyrics. They help one be able to understand more about the content of the lyrics even without reading them. From the above images, we can get the information about what genres 1 and two constitute and hence differentiate between them.
In conclusion, the crossover still depicts character all through and seems to be mentoring people to push through any hard situations. Unlike the other two genres that keep talking about love and how to love and be loved back. Both of the genres have been well analyzed basing on the word cloud that we formed through the lyrics that were mentioned.

Tear Drops on my Guitar – Taylor Swift (country)

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't seeThat I want and I'm needing everything that we should beI'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks aboutAnd she's got everything that I have to live without
Drew talks to me, I laugh 'cause it is just so funnyThat I can't even see anyone when he's with meHe says he's so in love, he's finally got it right,I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitarThe only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing starHe's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe? And there he goes, so perfectly,The kind of flawless I wish I could beShe'd better hold him tight, give him all her loveLook in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitarThe only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing starHe's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do

So I drive home alone, as I turn out the lightI'll put his picture down and maybeGet some sleep tonight

Because he's the reason for the teardrops on my guitarThe only one who's got enough of me to break my heartHe's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I doHe's the time taken up, but there's never enoughAnd he's all that I need to fall into

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see

The gambler – Kenny RogersOn a warm summer's eveOn a train bound for nowhere I met up with the gamblerWe were both too tired to sleep So we took turns a-starin' Out the window at the darkness The boredom overtook us,And he began to speakHe said, "Son, I've made a life Out of readin' people's faces Knowin' what the cards were By the way they held their eyes So if you don't mind me sayin' I can see you're out of aces For a taste of your whiskey I'll give you some advice"So I handed him my bottleAnd he drank down my last swallow Then he bummed a cigarette And asked me for a lightAnd the night got deathly quiet And his faced lost all expression He said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy You gotta learn to play it rightYou've got to know when to hold 'em Know when to fold 'emKnow when to walk awayAnd know when to runYou never count your money When you're sittin' at the table There'll be time enough for countin' When the dealin's done
Every gambler knows That the secret to survivin' Is knowin' what to throw away And knowin' what to keep 'Cause every hand's a winner And every hand's a loser And the best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep
And when he finished speakin' He turned back toward the window Crushed out his cigarette And faded off to sleep And somewhere in the darkness The gambler he broke even But in his final words I found an ace that I could keep

Thinking out loud – Ed Sheeran

When your looks don't work like they used to beforeAnd I can't sweep you off of your feetWill your mouth still remember the taste of my loveWill your eyes still smile from your cheeks
And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious waysMaybe just the touch of a handOh me I fall in love with you every single dayAnd I just wanna tell you I am
So honey nowTake me into your loving armsKiss me under the light of a thousand starsPlace your head on my beating heartI'm thinking out loudMaybe we found love right where we are
When my hair's all but gone and my memory fadesAnd the crowds don't remember my nameWhen my hands don't play the strings the same way, mmI know you will still love me the same

'Cause honey your soul can never grow old, it's evergreenBaby your smile's forever in my mind and memory

I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious waysMaybe it's all part of a planI'll just keep on making the same mistakesHoping that you'll understand
But baby nowTake me into your loving armsKiss me under the light of a thousand starsPlace your head on my beating heartI'm thinking out loudThat maybe we found love right where we are, oh
(Ah la la, la la la, la la la, la la la la)
So baby nowTake me into your loving armsKiss me under the light of a thousand starsOh darling, place your head on my beating heartI'm thinking out loudThat maybe we found love right where we are

Oh maybe we found love right where we are

And we found love right where we are

Take Me To Church - Hozier

My lover's got humourShe's the giggle at a funeralKnows everybody's disapprovalI should've worshipped her soonerIf the Heavens ever did speakShe is the last true mouthpieceEvery Sunday's getting more bleakA fresh poison each week'We were born sick,' you heard them say itMy church offers no absolutesShe tells me 'worship in the bedroom'The only heaven I'll be sent toIs when I'm alone with youI was born sick, but I love itCommand me to be wellAmen. Amen. Amen
Take me to churchI'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your liesI'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knifeOffer me that deathless deathGood God, let me give you my life
Take me to churchI'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your liesI'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knifeOffer me that deathless deathGood God, let me give you my life
If I'm a pagan of the good timesMy lover's the sunlightTo keep the Goddess on my sideShe demands a sacrificeTo drain the whole seaGet something shinySomething meaty for the main courseThat's a fine looking high horseWhat you got in the stable? We've a lot of starving faithfulThat looks tastyThat looks plentyThis is hungry work
Take me to churchI'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your liesI'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knifeOffer me that deathless deathGood God, let me give you my life
Take me to churchI'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your liesI'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knifeOffer me that deathless deathGood God, let me give you my life
No masters or kings when the ritual beginsThere is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sinIn the madness and soil of that sad earthly sceneOnly then I am humanOnly then I am cleanAmen. Amen.

Elastic Heart – Sia

And another one bites the dustOh why can I not conquer loveAnd I might have thought that we were oneWanted to fight this war without weapons
And I wanted it, I wanted it badBut there were so many red flagsNow another one bites the dustYeah let's be clear, I'll trust no one
[Pre-Chorus]You did not break meI'm still fighting for peace
[Chorus]I've got thick skin and an elastic heartBut your blade it might be too sharpI'm like a rubberband until you pull too hardI may snap and I move fastBut you won't see me fall apart'Cos I've got an elastic heart
And I will stay up through the nightLet's be clear, won't close my eyesAnd I know that I can surviveI'll walk through fire to save my life
And I want it, I want my life so badI'm doing everything I canThen another one bites the dustIt's hard to lose a chosen one

Stay With Me – Sam Smith

Guess it's true, I'm not good at a one-night standBut I still need love 'cause I'm just a manThese nights never seem to go to planI don't want you to leave, will you hold my hand?
Oh, won't you stay with me?'Cause you're all I needThis ain't love it's clear to seeBut darling, stay with me
Why am I so emotional? No it's not a good look, gain some self controlAnd deep down I know this never worksBut you can lay with me so it doesn't hurt
Oh, won't you stay with me?'Cause you're all I needThis ain't love it's clear to seeBut darling, stay with me
Oh, won't you stay with me?'Cause you're all I needThis ain't love it's clear to seeBut darling, stay with me
Oh, won't you stay with me?'Cause you're all I needThis ain't love it's clear to seeBut darling, stay with me

11. Lost Stars – Adam Lavine
Please don't see just a boy caught up in dreams and fantasiesPlease see me reaching out for someone I can't seeTake my hand let's see where we wake up tomorrowBest laid plans sometimes are just a one night standI'd be damned Cupid's demanding back his arrowSo let's get drunk on our tears and
God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the youngIt's hunting season and the lambs are on the runSearching for meaningBut are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?
Who are we? Just a speck of dust within the galaxy?Woe is me, if we're not careful turns into realityDon't you dare let our best memories bring you sorrowYesterday I saw a lion kiss a deerTurn the page maybe we'll find a brand new endingWhere we're dancing in our tears and
God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the youngIt's hunting season and the lambs are on the runSearching for meaningBut are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?
I thought I saw you out there cryingI thought I heard you call my nameI thought I heard you out there cryingJust the same
God, give us the reason youth is wasted on the youngIt's hunting season and this lamb is on the runSearching for meaningBut are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?
I thought I saw you out there cryingI thought I heard you call my nameI thought I heard you out there crying
But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark? But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?

14. Let it go – Idina Menzel
The snow glows white on the mountain tonightNot a footprint to be seen.A kingdom of isolation, and it looks like I'm the QueenThe wind is howling like this swirling storm insideCouldn't keep it in;Heaven knows I've tried
Don't let them in,don't let them seeBe the good girl you always have to beConceal, don't feel, don't let them knowWell now they know

Let it go, let it goCan't hold it back anymore

Let it go, let it goTurn away and slam the doorI don't carewhat they're going to sayLet the storm rage on.The cold never bothered me anyway

It's funny how some distanceMakes everything seem smallAnd the fears that once controlled meCan't get to me at all

It's time to see what I can doTo test the limits and break throughNo right, no wrong, no rules for me,I'm free!
Let it go, let it goI am one with the wind and skyLet it go, let it goYou'll never see me cryHere I standAnd here I'll stayLet the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the groundMy soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all aroundAnd one thought crystallizes like an icy blastI'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it goAnd I'll rise like the break of dawnLet it go, let it goThat perfect girl is goneHere I standIn the light of dayLet the storm rage on

The cold never bothered me anyway!

15. Am not the only one – Sam Smith
You and me, we made a vowFor better or for worseI can't believe you let me downBut the proof's in a way it hurts
For months on end I've had my doubtsDenying every tearI wish this would be over nowBut I know that I still need you here
You say I'm crazy'Cause you don't think I know what you've doneBut when you call me babyI know I'm not the only one

You've been so unavailableNow sadly I know whyYour heart is unobtainableEven though Lord knows you have mine

You say I'm crazy'Cause you don't think I know what you've doneBut when you call me babyI know I'm not the only one
I have loved you for many yearsMaybe I am just not enoughYou've made me realize my deepest fearBy lying and tearing us up
You say I'm crazy'Cause you don't think I know what you've doneBut when you call me babyI know I'm not the only oneYou say I'm crazy'Cause you don't think I know what you've doneBut when you call me babyI know I'm not the only oneI know I'm not the only oneI know I'm not the only oneAnd I know, and I know, and I know, and I know, and I know, and I know, knowI know I'm not the only one

I hate to do this, you leave no choiceCan't live without herLove me or hate me we will be boysStanding at that alterOr we will run awayTo another galaxy you knowYou know she's in love with meShe will go anywhere I go
Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life? Say yes, say yes'Cause I need to knowYou say I'll never get your blessing till the day I dieTough luck my friend cause the answer's still no!
Why you gotta be so rude?Don't you know I'm human tooWhy you gotta be so rudeI'm gonna marry her anywayMarry that girlMarry her anywayMarry that girlNo matter what you sayMarry that girlAnd we'll be a family

Why you gotta be so rude?

Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life? Say yes, say yes'Cause I need to knowYou say I'll never get your blessing till the day I dieTough luck my friend but no still means no!

Why you gotta be so rude? Why you gotta be so rude?
