Introduction
The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) website has a section where couples can analyze birth control measures, and compare and contrast up to four such methods.

Analysis

A fictitious couple in the modern age would like to explore birth control measures that are safe and reliable. Therefore, the couple could compare the pill, emergency contraception, male condom and vasectomy as likely options. A comparison shows that the male condom costs the least per sexual intercourse. Emergency contraception is more costly than taking the pill. Vasectomy, the permanent solution, costs the most, though the cost is one time. The effectiveness of the methods is comparable. The method of emergency contraception is the most unreliable, while vasectomy is the most effective method. Only the pill would necessitate regular healthcare provider visits. Protection from STD/ STIs is offered only by the use of the male condom. While the condom is disposable, the pill is to be taken daily and emergency contraception may be taken up to five days after unprotected sex. Vasectomy is the only option that is not quickly reversible. All methods save the male condom are undetectable by the partner.

Reflection

The online tool makes available a simple, yet comprehensive knowledge base for the user. It has essential information and necessary means of comparing up to four contraception methods. Only the critically important data is given out, thus avoiding information overload to the user. The tool, therefore, is a well-designed interface that helps in providing adequate information to a modern couple to decide upon their method of contraception.
