Free Bullying As A Social Problem Critical Thinking Example
Considering the issue of bullying, one should be aware that it is mainly the form of offensive behavior; bullying incorporates the two sides involved in the conflict, where one group of people occurs to be offended by the other. The thing is that bullying appeared to be a real burning issue today, since one can witness its signs in various places, including schools and universities (Banks). It is worth making mention that bullying is likely to be manifested in numerous ways; however, the impact is usually the same, entailing long-lasting “psychological consequences.” (Kaplan). Some scholars articulate the idea that bullies emerge to suffer from depression, which leads them to acting aggressively. The major objective of bullying is obviously the outrage upon personal dignity.
Bullying appears to be the phenomenon, which is likely to comprise serious concern; it is a real problem that can “affect the ability of students to progress academically and socially.” (Banks) It is important to become aware that bullying influences the society dramatically and beyond doubt has to be considered as the social problem. The point is that the harm that it causes can be hardly underestimated, since the bullies make their victims absolutely isolated by show humiliating and mockery. It is clear that the sufferers of bullying may be the teenagers having the sense of incompleteness. All in all, bullying deals with the societal failure to acknowledge the equality of all the categories of people.
As it was mentioned before, bullying is likely to have both physical and psychological influence. It is important to take into account the effect of these two traumas is equally dreadful for the youth in the process of their maturation. Obviously, in order to eradicate the signs of bullying educational establishments, it is necessary to apply a complex approach to dealing with this social problem. Regarding the preventive measures, which might be successful in anti-bullying campaign, one should initially familiarize oneself with the fact there are three possible preventive levels: primary, secondary, and, at last, tertiary. Evidently, each of the abovementioned levels is characterized by certain specifics.
Drafting the preventive program, which would adequately appeal to the coordination centers of bullying among the teenagers, it is necessary to draw attention to the fact that there is a variety of the approaches to framing the empathy and appreciation as between people. The contemporary tendency within the area of bullying prevention measures proves that when attempting to settle on a solution to this social problem, one should inevitably incorporate considering each person as the potential target of the prevention program. The thing is that both bullies and the bystanders appear to be of great importance in terms of reducing the signs of aggressive behavior (Eyman & Cohen). Among the efficient methods against bullying, it is worth taking into consideration the significance of bullying prevention workshops, which are aimed at shaping the awareness of the need to be concerned about the discussion social problem. Obviously, in order to eliminate bullying from everyday’s life, it is necessary to analyze this problem in detail; bullying prevention workshops serve as the guide to getting to know the nature of this social problem. Such a prevention workshop is likely to endow people with knowledge necessary to resolve as well as prevent bullying. Despite the fact that bullying is deeply rooted in human consciousness, the abovementioned method is most probably the best method to fight a multi-layered epidemic, which is bullying.
Indisputably, bullying is like an illness feeding off of the bloodline of societal acknowledgment and similar viewpoints. As a result, it requires serious attention to overcome this negative social phenomenon. One should clearly understand that bullying is not just what people see; it occurs as the terrifying message that permanently surrounds the youth until they become overwhelmed with the idea of abstracting from the society. In order to prevent the extension bullying, it is necessary to adhere to bullying-prevention policy, and prevention workshop is an integral part of this course.
