Marketing Strategies

Fisher College provides its students with a variety of sporting activities. Some of these sports include baseball, basketball, soccer, golf and softball among others. To enhance quality in sports, the college has a focused department referred to as Fisher College athletics. The college teams are referred to as falcons. To enhance sport development, the college has become a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and competes in the Association of Independent Institutions.
Sports marketing are a goal of the Fisher College Sports department with an aim of promoting its sports and enhancing quality. Currently, the college has embarked to serious marketing strategies that play a great role in promoting sports in the college. First, the college has identified various athletic sponsorship opportunities for its teams. Recently, the college entered the second decade of competition where it has exposed its teams to the outside sports market. For instance, the college has joined hands business to join its teams and help them in building sports excellence. There exist various sponsorship packages and opportunities geared towards developing sports in Fisher College.
In addition, the Fisher College has also focused on the social media as one of its sports marketing strategies. Advancement in technology has seen the growth and development of social media which has played a great role in developing marketing both in companies and institutions. To market its sports through the social media, the college has opened Twitter and Facebook accounts through which it posts its sporting events. Through the social media, the college markets its teams by advertising some of the events they are involved in and their performance relative to other institutions. In addition, through the same social media, the college advertises its sporting facilities. The aim of using the social media is to create awareness of its sporting activities and persuade young students to join the college. Besides, this marketing strategy is also geared towards winning sponsorships for its teams. The following graphics show some of the social media pages of the college sporting events.

Although these strategic methods have been very crucial in the growth and development of sports in Fisher College, it is also important to use other better methods. The college should also advertise its sporting events over the television and radios. This method is very viable in helping the college to open ways for many other sponsors to exploit the opportunity and help the college to improve further in its sporting activities.

Demographics of Fisher sports fans

Most of the Fisher sports fans are the students within the college and other colleges within Boston, Brockton, New Bedford, New Hampshire and North Attenborough. However, there is a great need to air these sporting events commercially via the television in order to target other world university and college students, professional clubs and entire world at large. Since the college has a variety of games to offer, going commercial may benefit many fans from all walks of the life.

Expectation of the effects of my plan

Commercializing sports in Fisher College may be of great impact to the college and other sporting institutions of the world. First, it may help the professional clubs to sign some of their players from the Fisher College’s team. This would benefit the college, the professional club and also the player him/herself. Through such a transaction, the college will get some sponsorship from this clubs. In addition, the college will also build its profile hence strengthening its public image and reputation. Besides, this is another opportunity for advertising the college to the outside world hence can play a great role in enhancing its future growth and development.
On the other hand, the professional club is able to source best players from the college that would help in grow to greater heights as far as world competitions are concerned. Through, its signings it may get good players who can help it to build its image and reputation in the world. Finally, the players will have the opportunity to play in one of the best professional clubs in the world. In these clubs, the signed players will be able to develop the sports career as they earn from their talent.
Furthermore, this plan would also play a great role in marketing the college sports to other willing sponsors who may not be professional clubs. Such interested parties may play a great role in developing sporting facilities within the college. In addition, they may also sponsor the education of the best players in the college. In so doing, they would help the college grow to a foreseeable future.
Through an interview with an official of the fisher sports community, he showed a great support of my plan. According to him, the plan would be of the best help to the college, students and the administration as well. However, the official felt that the plan may require great attention and a lot of support money wise. He argued that such a move would be expensive but with the support of administration and other sponsors, the plan would be of great help to the Fisher College Sports Department.
