Spirituality defines very many perspectives, the concepts creates a very phenomenal belief in the collection of something and a being that is bigger than the believer is. Benner, Tanner and Chelsea (2009) argue that spirituality in reality is the belief and the search of a meaning for life. It is with this knowledge, that the understanding of the nature of how human beings undertake spirituality can be viewed. Therefore, spirituality in the modern days is more controversial than expected. In essence, spirituality maintains divides in the transformation of healthcare provision with influence from pluralism and scientism.
The prime reality is that spiritual healthcare has changed its moral obligation over the years. It is with this light that the issues of post modernism come out in the open. Post modernism refers to the concepts that deter and deviate a number of criticisms on theories and departures from modernism. Looking at the text by Puchalski (2001), the reality is that with the deviation of healthcare provision from compassionate care to result oriented care the traditional psychology of serving human life seems lost.
The world in general is one very transformative and inevitable to these changes. Equally, the sanity in human life has been underwritten by the effects of the human being character twisting its way into healthcare provision. According to Benner, Tanner and Chelsea (2009), the role of spiritual care details to giving the patient an understanding of their suffering; as much as this might be psychological, the ethical appeal that this gets from the definition of suffering (sickness) for man with meaning seems to appeal to the concerns of spiritual and compassionate healthcare.
Looking at the role of the human being from the spiritual concept, one gets the revelation of a purpose oriented living. The most tempting of this situation comes with the pluralism in context appear. The text by Puchalski (2001) states that our system is out of control; vividly, this implies that the world is out of control. Pluralism has therefore not allowed the creation of solutions; it has nevertheless distorted the meaning that was attributed to the current system with self-interest, politics and the protection of personal interest.
Perhaps, the concepts of compassionate healthcare will only be interested in the reconciliation of the human character to their beliefs of a living God. Therefore, the concerns of compassionate care dwell heavily on the reality of what happens to the patent after death. More so, the inquisitive and figurative concern will be of the diction by medical ethicists and spirituality is real. They present the meaning of life ending after death; nevertheless, the belief of life after death is obvious. With this, the question of spirituality comes out open perhaps accusing the patients of pluralism also at such instances. It is difficult to provide any real answers (Shelly and Miller, 2006).
For these reasons, true healing refers to the reality of acceptance, in the management of healthcare morality. Equally, the concerns of acceptance go deep in the vitality of coping which will be defined as acceptance as Puchalski (2001) has shown. The rhetoric’s by atheists will debate of spirituality giving a confirmation and a promise for a pain free life. Nevertheless, the contrast comes in the way spiritual believers especially Christians believe in suffering with reasons.
In the modern world that contemporary issues revolve around scientism, pluralism and postmodern concerns, the provision of healthcare as seen is implore to be more of a model that appeals to the spiritual faith and belief of patients. Arguably, some harsh diction maintains this practice as preparing the patient for their exit to human life. However, as much one will try to avoid this fatality; the hopes of a life after death are very high even with the healthcare providers who hope that cure is guaranteed with death.
