Louis Frisino attempted to challenge the dominant discourse through creative expression of performing arts. Louis was deaf but still struggled to live a full, productive and independent life in the society. At times, stereotyping that is socially embedded may transcend differences in abilities but such determined people should beat that. People with dominant discourses are often described as warriors when it comes to creative expressions of arts. Louis faced contradictions based on his hearing problem, but he maintained being unique to each system of culture. For performing arts, every participant should be identified positively and ranked uniquely depending on the level of participation (Afary & Karman, 89). This essay paper has an aim of exploring creative expressions in relation to a person who attempts to challenge a dominant discourse. For the case of this paper, Louis Frisino will be discussed.
Based on the language, power, and culture, Louis undertook activities of matter in the medium of performance. A recognized activity that Louis took to importance is the use of own body signs to challenge ability and disability definitions. Sounds that were produced by this person contributed to performing arts. Since Louis was not in a position to talk, he could produce sounds but mostly used visual arts. Signs used by Louis in the performing arts could communicate culture of his society and how it was to help people with dominant discourses to excel. From the respective societies of people with dominant discourses, there must have been several definitions that mention the people. This would involve nicknames and an individual with a discourse in the performing arts would make their definition brave by using their own bodies. Louis then developed a territory in which the discoursed people would address their problems (Mc Mahon et al., 89) Questions of power among the disabled were often put into public by performing through bodily inspirations are also activities that would ensure the person prospers to good levels. Louis, an artist with a dominant discourse, could be presented with images of other people with dominant discourses. These other people represented standards of living and wanted prosperity in their lives. Louis acted by contesting on the ground in order to challenge traditional cultural, social and historical assumptions about people with dominant discourses.
Works of Louis in the performing arts gave a voice that would correlate the discourse body by culture, tradition and use of history. Language in connecting performance with class reading had sufficient analyzing. Essential labeling in arts then applied and was used to minimize scholarly attention and promote actual performance. This increased language specification in performing arts with labels of the best language that can be used to explore the culture. Several artistic desertions then worked to increase knowledge of the language within the artistic feature. Significant themes in the performance used by Louis included language, expression, and movement.
In concluding Louis with a dominant discourse, is important in the theater industry just like others. By performing, Louis has been in a position to communicate in the form of entertaining. Issues like culture, language, and power including their definition have often been expressed through arts. Addressing lives of the people with dominant discourses give questions through bodily representations and challenge the society, culture, and traditions in order to support such people (Pickering, 35). Questions that can be addressed for such group of people can be put in mind by the use of bodily representations and expressing would affect by creating concerns for such people. By challenging the public, everybody would know that despite all odds like that of an individual with a dominant discourse, everybody is equal and can function same. Louis then made it in expressing issues through performing arts.
