Analysis of the Behavioral Theory
The proponent of the Heath Promotion Program for the elderly relating to injury decided on using the PRECEDE/PROCEED model as a working framework for the program. The PRECEDE/PROCEED model is a behavioral theory that involved the active participation of the community with the intention of creating an effective community health promotion intercession . The decision to choose this particular model for a behavioral theory originates from the intensive study that evaluated the risks that the elderly confronts when they are outside the house. The study revealed that majority of the injuries that involved the elderly particularly in public places has something to do with the facilities and structural designs of most public and private establishments that are not conducive for the special needs of the selected sample population . Therefore, the proponent thought that it is necessary to choose a model that would actively involve the members of the community to take the necessary action to ensure the safety and wellness of the elderlies in the community.

Analysis of Intervention Strategy

As an intervention, the proponent decided on a collaborative strategy that requires the participation of the community stakeholders. The proponent decided to name the stakeholders of the program. This process allows the proponent to ensure the participation of every members of the community who has the direct capacity to enforce the necessary changes and action towards the implementation and execution of the program . By naming the legislators and local government officials, the private establishment owners, as well as officials of health departments and institutions within the community, the proponent may create specific request from these sector to share their resources and their influence to work up an individualized contribution to the program to ensure its success.
For example, the decision to involve local government officials and legislators is to bring the issue to the proper venue that would create a law that will mandate private establishment owners to create provisions that would assist the elderly when they visit their facilities. Such provisions include railings, PWD parking, and less steep staircases. Furthermore, the local government officials and legislators can also facilitate for the same provision for government-owned and public facilities and infrastructures.

Analysis for Program Activity

In deciding for program activities, the proponent considered the procedure and protocols for a public assembly. The proponent believed that this is the first step towards public information. Furthermore, it will raise awareness and present the facts needed to justify the urgent need for change to secure the welfare of the identified members of the community. The public assembly will involve all the stakeholders so they will be able know the role that they will play in the health promotion program designed for the elderly. Furthermore, this will also serve as an avenue where the members of the community can pitch in their ideas, or state their support or opposition.
