The aim of this paper is to undertake a rhetorical analysis of the movie named Titanic directed by James Cameron. The movie has been made based upon the real life event using drama. The paper includes the understanding of the voices and viewpoints that have been depicted and presented in the movie successfully by using rhetorical elements.
The director of the movie has carefully made use of the major rhetorical ways to present the performance. The movie inhibits the effective usage of montage as well as sound effects that fully back up the camera techniques. The dialogues have been written in such a manner that it completed relates to the montage that has been set by the director. In addition, it should also be noted that the movie is not just a mere presentation of the entertainment but it rather leaves a great deal of lesson for the people to gain insight about the incident of the real Titanic ship. The usage of drama (the love story between Jack Dawson and Rose) has yet undermined the rhetorical manner of presenting the performance. It brings the story as well as the attention of the audiences together. The usage of literature and language together allows the audiences to gain effective understanding of the story and drama in a very interesting manner.
The major argument that has been backed up in the story is about the weakness of humans when it comes to inventions. The director of the movie indicates that there is a reason behind the doom of men i.e. not taking lessons from the reason. The rhetoric clearly brings amalgamation of fact and weakness of man. It is due to this reason that the movie was able to gain a lot of attention.
Another argument that has been weaved within the story of Titanic is about the fact that people look at the life as an eternal aspect. However, life is unpredictable and people can never guarantee the later life. The movie depicts that titanic was created by making it a wonderland for people on its own. However, there was an end to the luxury of titanic. The movie is basically a clear indication of the fact that people make wrong choices when it comes to live the life. With the help of the characters, the movie depicts that life does not work as it is planned. It is believed that a person who rich can be happy. However, in real terms it is not the true case. Thus, it can be stated that the rhetorical elements have been used effectively. Such as the storywriter’s viewpoint and voice is quiet evident in the film.
The medium movie that has been selected by the creators of Titanic script remains a very integral benefit. The movie as a medium allows the presents to bring the issues and aspects in an easiest manner. In simpler words, there is a lot of room of presentation and imagination when it comes to movie. However, at the same time, movie as a medium has its limitation. The evident limitation is likely to be the execution and overall rendering of the sounds, scenes and dialogue delivery. Grand usage of cameras and variant degree of cinematography works in defense of the movie and the script.
