In Islam, Sunnis and Shias are the two principal sects into which Muslims are divided. As far as Sunnis are concerned, they are present throughout the world in large majorities (around eighty to ninety percent). Conversely, Shia populations are mostly concentrated in Bahrain, Iraq, and Iran. Moreover, they are also present in Yemen, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Syria in large numbers.
