A major public health issue in the U.S. and globally is the continuing prevalence of HIV which can progress to AIDS. The infection is transmitted primarily via sexual contact. Although they compose just 2% of the country’s population, disease incidence is noted to be highest among men who have sex with men (MSM), otherwise referred to as gay or bisexual men (HIV, 2012).
