This memo is to inform you of some issues that I’ve noticed with early morning (6:00 am to 8:00 am) room service and to suggest some possible solutions to the problems. Many guests have reported that their morning room service orders are taking much to long, some are taking so long that the guests have had to cancel the order because they needed to check out. This rash of complaints is causing lower moral among the morning Food and Beverage staff. Hopefully, you can look into this and we can work together to find a way to improve morning service.
I think that any issues with the current staff do not cause these room service delays; instead I think that the delays are because the morning Food and Beverage service is understaffed. I noticed that we do not have the same complaints on weekends, when we have more cooks and servers on duty. While I do not think that we need to have as many staff on the clock as we have on weekend mornings, I think that the service will greatly benefit from additional cooks and servers.
I have a few suggestions that I’d like you to consider. First, we could hire some new staff to specifically cover weekday mornings. Second, we could ask some of our weekend staff to come in on weekday mornings. Finally, we could extend the hours of a few members of the overnight staff to include an early morning service.
