Good Example Of Essay On Missouri Governor’s State Of The State

In the Missouri Governor’s State of the State address, Jay Nixon speaks about many things important to every citizen of the Missouri state. He addresses the ultimate values sacred to every American citizen and implies that these values must be taken as the foundation for public services provided by the government. When it comes to discussion of the budget planning, Nixon underlines the importance of paying tribute to those who faithfully served the country during the hard times – the veterans of the Vietnam War. He emphasizes that the Missouri veterans need improvement in their living conditions and that it must be a high priority for the government. Jay Nixon discusses the budget with passion, stating that the economy is growing with the help of investments, innovations, and new efficient strategies (State of Missouri, “2015 Missouri State of the State Address”).
In his speech, Nixon paid attention to almost every field of Missouri economy. He touched upon such hot topics as employment, agriculture, transportation, etc. Moreover, Jay Nixon presented a rational and comprehensible plan of recovering the areas that experience problems, such as transportation infrastructure of the state, ecology, healthcare, and education. The advantage of his speech is that it is not overloaded with beautiful but hollow phrases, but is filled with specific examples and subsequent steps that would help the state overcome its issues. I agree with Jay Nixon in many aspects of his speech. I find it well-balanced with sound arguments and the right level of passion and devotion to the problems of Missouri. It is not a set of meaningless promises, but a strict plan of actions, and that is what makes the speech so valuable.
