The mission statement for this health promotion program is to promote occupational health and safety for all employees. In addition, the mission of the program is to create awareness of the need to have safe working environment that places the safety of the employees as a priority and one that adheres to the healthy people 2020 objectives (Healthy People 2014).

Goal of the Program

The goal of the health promotion program is to achieve high level of safety for the employees that ensure mitigation of health hazards in their working environment. Attaining a work environment that assures optimal safety as well as precautionary measures to mitigate risks to the employees would define the goal of the program (Healthy People, 2014).

A Course Instructor – to lead the educational course in safety

A Nurse or certified individual to assess employee health
A HR person – to coordinate efforts of the program in the business

Resources and curriculums will be drawn from free local resources. Several private and public providers who are currently offering services for hearing loss include the: Houston Center for Hearing and Speech and the Hearing Loss-Houston Organization. These two organizations are actively engaged in a number of activities in Houston aimed at reducing hearing loss incidences in Houston and other parts of America. Some of the ways through which these organizations are involved is by creating awareness through campaigns and seminars, helping people affected with hearing loss safety gadgets for their work-related activities and initiating industry related projects aimed at reducing cases of noise –induced hearing loss.
We will only need a space in which to host the events, activities and learning programs. We will arrange with the workplace to use their lunchroom facilities, or classrooms for other training sessions as a space for our program.
We will apply for grants.
