Discuss the following matter as related to the issue of Metaphysics:
Compare and contrast the logos/mythos worldviews, demonstrating the difference between the two with regard, for instance, to the issue of evolution.
Mythic world views explain the existence of the different earthly creatures by the use of myths. Myths are stories based on beliefs that one just tends to construct without examining how exactly the events stated unfolded. Logical worldviews tend to explain with created logic either scientific or mathematical the existence of the world and that that surround it. In the theory of evolution, there is a deviation in explanation of the existence of human being. Logos and mythos produce deviating ideas based on their nature of existence. Western philosophy and science are paradigms control the theory of evolution in the logos worldview. Scientists formulate logical scientific explanations as causes of the world existence. Mythos beliefs use traditional facts and theories such as bible facts to explain the evolution theory. Both worldviews of explanations arrive at specific conclusions in evolution.
2. What is metaphysics and what is the origin of the term "metaphysics"?
Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that deals with explaining the fundamental nature of creatures. It attempts to explain how beings exist. Metaphysics is backdated to during the time of Thales of Miletus. Aristotle explained that Thales was among the pioneers of metaphysics. Aristotle then attempted to explain further what the subject really was (Lange, 2010).
3. Explain the Platonic metaphysical perspective and how is it demonstrated in Plato's allegory of the cave?
One is always impressed and satisfied with what they know so long as they have not realized any more different from their traditional knowledge. In Plato’s allegory of the cave, one is not familiar with light so long as they are hidden under the cave. However, when one realizes that light exists, they tend embrace light and as a result attempt to share with others.
4. Explain Aristotle's metaphysical perspective, why is it designated as metaphysical realism and how is it different from the Platonic metaphysical perspective?
Aristotle believes that beings exist just because they exist and not because of certain special qualities. He also includes the existence of a prime mover who is God. However according to Plato, there are certain objects that compromise a framework of reality beyond the material universe.
4. What is Metaphysical Idealism?
This is the belief that the mind is different from the body and that the products and expressions of the world are expressions of the mind.
5. What is Metaphysical Realism?
Metaphysical realism explains that most objects that are in this world, exist independently without effect from any external beings. External factors are not directly linked to the existence of world objects.
6. How is the study of ontology related to the study of Metaphysics?
Ontology is merely a branch of metaphysics that specializes in the study of the existence, becoming and the nature of beings. Due to the study of the nature and existence, ontology greatly relates to metaphysics (Fitelson & Zalta, 2007).
7. Explain the metaphysical perspective of Existentialism?
Existentialism is a philosophical approach that states that human beings have the ability to decide and are also responsible through their actions and their will. Metaphysics explains the existence of beings. This is related to existentialism since it also deals with human independence of existence and decision-making.
8. What would a metaphysical Idealist believe about the relationship of the body/soul?

9. What would a metaphysical Realist believe about the relationship of the body/soul?
A metaphysics realist believes that a large number of the objects that are found on earth independently exist of human thought. These objects have natures that are absolutely independent of how human being think about them (Fitelson & Zalta, 2007).
10. Would you consider yourself to be a metaphysical idealist, metaphysical realist, or would you endorse an existentialist metaphysic? Explain your answer why you endorse your particular perspective.
I would endorse an existentialist metaphysic. Existentialism states that human beings possess the ability to guide themselves, take responsibility and become accountable for all they do. Rationally, every human being with upright moral and intellectual capacity has the ability to think for themselves. At birth, the human brain is potentially empty because newborn babies do not have the ability to think for themselves. However with time, the human brain develops prompting independence and self-control. Girls take their responsibilities and boys reciprocate (Fitelson & Zalta, 2007).
