The problems facing the Syrian refugee crisis affects the geography of the world as nearby countries take in the burden of these people who were forced out of their native land. The Syrian political conditions have experienced incredible turmoil as instability of the Baath government and Islamic groups fight for control of power. Unfortunately the civil war among government military and religious fundamentalist groups, the rebels, and the condition of life for the majority of Syrians became incredibly dangerous. To protect themselves and their families, Syrians were forced to flee their homeland to bordering countries.
The Syrian refugee numbers have risen to almost 12 million people who are left without a stable home. The refugees are spread out among the Middle East, with the largest majority in Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon. The humanitarian issues that stem from the crisis leaves many of the refugees living in desperation as the governments of the countries who take them in, lack the funds to support the increase in numbers of people fleeing Syria.
The political challenge of the problem effects countries around the globe who are working to assist Syria as well as the countries around Syria in a struggle to maintain order. Sadly, the conditions for all political participants involved in the crisis are at a loss on what will be done to rebuild for the millions with no place to go. Countries around the world are working toward a resettle policy that will help the Syrian refugee find a permanent home within another country.
Geographically speaking, the changes in the ethnic diversity as millions of Syrians of various backgrounds are migrating to foreign lands creating civilizations (so to speak) of their own. The impact is going to not only be currently affecting the places where Syrian refugees are places, but also the future of the diversity in the culture that they will begin to call home. A new breed of people with blended cultures and ethnicities will be seen in future generations creating a new dynamic in the world. This is what I believe as my opinion of what to expect from the Syrian refugee crisis.
