Assignment OneTherapy Imaginal exposure therapy when done as it should be by veteran therapists, can lead to a decrease in PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorders) symptoms through re-exposure to memories of the traumatic events such as the World Trade Center tragedy. The exposure evidently assists the victims to habituate and process memories and emotions related to the traumatic events.Diagnosis The AUDIT (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test) is a drug use disorder testing instrument that helps in the screening and diagnosis of dangerous consumption of alcohol. It also helps assist in identifying bad drinking patterns as the source of an individual’s prevailing sickness. The tool is helpful for drunkards to cease consumption of alcohol or reduce the same through an intervention framework that it presents.Etiology The cognitive behavioral theory has been used to explain the etiology of sexual offending. It involves having cognitive distortions and irrational beliefs. Behavioral theorists suggest that sexual offending can be learned or conditioned in a way. For instance, when an individual gets involved in a sexual deviant act, say sexual abuse, they become behaviorally conditioned to the sexual spur (Hollin, 1990).Prognosis Based on medical knowledge, the following is a forecast of the future course and risks of the Left Middle Cerebral Artery Distribution Stroke (Ischemic Stroke) disease; if one has sickle cell anemia or high blood pressure, if one’s parents had a stroke, if the victim has atria fibrillation, diabetes or any heart disease and if the victim is male and is more than fifty years old (Hirsch & Gilberto, 2010).
Assignment TwoDifede, J. & Hoffman, G. H., (2002). Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy for World Trade Center Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: A Case Report. Cyber Psychology and Behavior, Volume 5, Issue Number 6. This article presents therapy evidence-based research by explaining how the imaginal exposure therapy can lead to a decrease in Post Traumatic Stress Disorders symptoms.Assignment Three The concept of the bell-shaped curve in the medicine world is a reality that every other person has to live with. The information provided is useful primarily because illness is characterized by crucial decisions that affect both the victim and his/her relatives. However, in Annie Page’s case, the doctors failed to inform her that the Cincinnati Children’s (where she received treatment) was not among the best health facilities dealing with cystic fibrosis. In relation to this, it is, for this reason, of great essence that a patient accesses such information to help them make the right choices such as choosing a different health facility. As noted earlier, this information is crucial in informing the kind of decisions that patients have to make and after that live with. Notably, for instance, doctors in Annie’s case knew very well that at their health facility, the lung function of patients below the age of 12 was way below in the 25% bottom of the country’s cystic fibrosis patients but failed to inform her including her parents. If they had informed her earlier, she would have decided otherwise than be treated at the center. Consequently, it can be seen that the information will indeed affect greatly the choices a patient makes in terms of where to receive the care and more significantly, who to provide that care (Schoen, et al, 2006).
