An Enhanced eBook is a book that provides more than just text. Like DVD’s and the commentary and other features, an Enhanced eBook provides additional text, video, audio or some other special feature that would be impossible to include in a standard fare paperback or hardcover book.Target Audience:
The target audience are readers with digital devices which can read an Enhanced eBook, such as an iPad or Kindle. Concept Statement Books can be taken to higher levels of mixed content through an enhanced eBook. c)The mode of the concept statement is commercialized.d) An Enhanced eBook is a commercial product. e) With Enhanced eBooks, books can be read to their full potential on your device. Enhanced eBooks go beyond the call of duty of regular eBooks by providing extra features, such as audio, video, additional text, or even games. f) The price includes getting more than just a book, but complimentary information about a subject the consumer is obviously interested, since they are buying a book on it. Respondent groups a) The respondent groups will fall into two categories—1) book readers with an eReader device 2) Book readers without an eReader. The respondents will be screened by questionnaire that determines if they meet the criteria for the respondent groups. b) What is of interest in this concept test is determining whether readers with an eReader would be willing to pay more for an Enhanced eBook, rather than just buying standard paper or eBook. This concept test is also interested in finding out if people who read a lot of books would be interested in getting a reader if they could get additional content they wouldn’t have access to without one. Response situation/Research method/Sample sizea) Given the different tools of measurement, the survey method is a research tool that will be able to answer all the variables of interests for a product of this nature. b) Through Internet advertising potential respondents will be asked to take a survey. If they meet the initial criteria, they will move on in the survey. To cut down costs, participating will enter the served into a contest to win a digital eReader, this way each one will not need to be remunerated. c) According to an online sample size counter, that lists the relative margins of error from different testing populations, 100 will provide a good variable of reliability for a research. d) Survey is the best method because it will give the study the answers needed in order to gauge how the target market feels about Enhanced eBooks and also gauges the interest of a potential market. The Internet, through targeted marketing through Google’s Keyword planner will be able to find people meeting the criteria for the research group(s). 100, is a number that yields a high confidence in the soundness of the information. Questions Asked of Response Groupa) If you were able to get exclusive interviews, video, audio or other features to accompany your eBook, would you consider spending more on it? Have you purchased an Enhanced eBook in the past? Do you plan to purchase an Enhanced eBook in the future? For people who do not have an eReader, but are regular readers. ? How much more would you be likely to spend for an Enhanced eBook compared to a standard eBook? If you knew that Enhance eBooks of the books you read are available with content that cannot be consumed without an Enhanced eBook, would you consider getting an eReaderb) Before a publisher spends the expense of creating an Enhanced eBooks, it is sagacious to know if there is indeed a market for them. This question targets the consumer most likely to buy an Enhanced eBooks, readers who also reader eBooks on a device that they had already purchased. It also gauges whether or not readers who have not yet purchased an eReader would be more likely to consider it if they knew that they could get additional content to go along with the books they are already buying. The questions will not be answered with a less or no, but instead will be, “Very likely. Somewhat likely. Maybe. Not likely at all. Most likely not.” c) Though these are not very many questions, it accomplishes of goal of gauging the both the likelihood of readers spending more for an enhanced eBook, and it also helps set a price limit of how much more a buyer might be willing to spend for one. There are not specific questions not to ask, but it is important, since this is being conducted as an online survey to keep it short and succinct. Many people, especially since participants are being entered into a contest in stead of being paid, would not be willing to spend a lot of time doing a survey online. By keeping the questions as less than ten, this will encourage people to finish the survey instead of abandoning it halfway through.
