Identifying Themes and Concerns for the Benefit of the Individual Business Manager

Introduction
The word organization usually comprises on the fact that achievement of a goal is possible with the help of effective and powerful teamwork (Clarke, 2001). Due to high competition in the market, most of the organizations of the world are now increasing their ways to detect and make powerful teams that can help them in achieving their long term objectives. There are two important types of organizations there, known as Structured Organizations and Unstructured Organizations (Clarke and Greaves, 2008).
Structured Organizations are those organizations who have definite departments existing in their premises. Every department of the structured organization works in the best possible manner for the company as far as achieving the predefined goal is concerned (Clarke and Greaves, 2007). On the other hand, unstructured organizations do not have any structure or department. Usually unstructured organizations run specifically by the Sole Proprietor usually referred as One Man Army.
Organizations usually need effective and powerful management to manage their entire operations, and for that important purpose they have powerful managers and leaders on board. Effective management and leadership are essential to have a remarkable sustainability of an entity in an industry (Evans, Campbell and Stonehouse, 2003). The main theme of this assignment is to initiate a Thematic Analysis of two different lectures. According to the scenario of the assignment, there are two different lectures have been attached with this assignment, and both of the lectures associated with the business managers (Evans, Campbell and Stonehouse, 2003). The assignment has been structured in such a manner that it will summarize both the lectures attached with the assignment first, and then move towards the thematic analysis followed by a personal reflection related the analysis.

Discussion & Analysis

The purpose of every organization is clear which is to attain attentiveness and effectiveness in the market. It is an obvious fact that every organization works hard for their economic prosperity, and they always required their team members and departments to give their hundred percent efforts for their core productivity and efficiency.

The first lecture that is identified in the analysis is about one of the major types of leadership, known as Transformational Leadership. Leadership is basically a behavior of an individual through which they can empower their employees to have the best results for the company (Evans, Campbell and Stonehouse, 2003). Theoretically, leadership is a social influence in which a person will be entitled to help and support the others to accomplish a specific target. The importance of leaders and leadership cannot be ignored by the organizations as leaders have a big helping hand behind their sustainability and future (Evans, Campbell and Stonehouse, 2008). Leadership is all about organizing a group of individuals to achieve a common goal. Leaders have the tendency and ability to lead from the front, and face every challenge with bravery. That is why, it is said that leaders are born not made.
The 1st lecture note was all about one of the major forms and types of leadership known as Transformational Leadership (Clarke and Greaves, 2007). Transformational Leadership is a type of leadership in which the leaders of a company are highly effective and friendly to their employees, and they have an idea that the employees of the company like to work, and they don’t need any sort of influence to take work out from them (Hill and Jones, 2005). Transformational Leadership has the guts and ability to strengthen the overall leadership structure of an organization by enhancing the level of satisfaction of employees. Due to this particular aspect, transformational leadership is now used in different parts of the world. According to the slides of 1st lecture, a business is made to earn economic profit and making a difference among the people and communities (Hill and Jones, 2004). Apart from describing some of the basic definitions and characteristics of leadership and leaders in the lecture, a strong and powerful discussion has been introduced to differentiate among the leadership and management. According to this theoretical observation, management is all about association for the sake of money and long term productivity of the organization, however leadership is all about leading the company from the front with Zeal in their eyes and spirit in their vision (Clarke and Greaves, 2007).
In this lecture, the lecturer tried to deliver the significance of leadership for an organization, along with analyzing the stance of transformational leadership. As per the analysis, transformation leadership style is that leadership style through which employees of an organization can have their effectiveness in the marketplace (Clarke and Greaves, 2007). Satisfied employees are comparatively sounder and more productive than that of the unsatisfied employees, and a perfect leadership style will bring this flavor taste towards the company. The associated benefits with transformation leadership for the organizations are very high, and it is the only method through which the organizations can sustain in an industry with positive attitude (Hussey, 2004). One of the major characteristics of transformational leadership style is to increase the level of interaction of employees and management. In an organizational level, the barriers related to communication among the employees and management should be kept on a lower level.
One of the things that will be directed for the company by applying the transformational behavior is Self-management Decision making stance. Decision making, the most incredible point of bargain for the companies has the ability to manage their core effectiveness in such a manner that suits the entire management (Hussey, 2004). The managers who have the ability to take timely and powerful decisions are comparatively sounder and more productive as compared to those managers who are unable to take timely and effective decisions. In the Lecture notes, it is found that organizations should permit all of their employees to become an integral part of the decision making, as every employee has the right to raise their voice for the productivity of the company (Hussey, 2004). It not only brings expertise in the functions of the company, but it also assists the entity to sustain appropriately. Self-Motivated individuals are usually known as the key players of an organization, as they have the ability to eradicate each and every barrier of communication from management and employees to direct their attitude. The lecture emphasized on the thing that leadership is not a strategy, and it should be treated as a style or competency through which the employees can get relaxation and power (Hussey, 2004).

About Second Lecture

The real productivity of an organization as well as for an economy lies in the fact that how brutally it can sustain in an industry or in competing with other countries (Hussey, 2004). The second lecture is related to the sustainability. There are number of companies who participated in making and presenting the case study. The underpinning point that was addressed in this particular lecture is Sustainable Development. Without any doubt, development is an important aspect that associated with an organization for their future effectiveness, hence sustainable development is essential (Hussey, 2008).
The lecture notes described the basic definition of the sustainable development in a perfect manner. It presented that sustainable development is the name of the development that meets with the needs of present without compromising over the ability of the future based aspects and generation. The lecture is basically underpinning the sustainable development system of economies instead of organizations, and it possesses somewhat identical importance for the economies as well (Jones and Hill, 2010). One of the best things that were found in the lecture slides is the description of the current Capitalist system. There are basically five different elements that influence the development process of a country externally, including Government, Investors, Citizens, Business and the financial markets. Thus, only those economies can get effectiveness in this scenario who are able to manage all of these external influences and challenges accordingly. Regulations that have the idea of tax incentives have a direct linkage with the strategic and financial position of an organization (Jones, George and Hill, 2000).
The lecture found a real time relationship between the energy consumption of a country, and its impact over its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth. The United States of America (USA) has the largest amount of consumption of energy, and it is the largest economy of the world as well. It means that there is a powerful and direct relationship between both of these variables (Jones, George and Hill, 2000). Sustainability is important for the economies to stay competitive in terms of competing different economies of the world. Apart from the consumption, there are some macroeconomic variables that will be considered very important and effective for the economies to maintain a perfect ad hoc between their economic consequences (Sadler, 2001). From the lecture notes related to sustainable development, it is found that the element of sustainability is significant for an economy, and through effective measures a country can have the sustainable development stance.

Thematic Analysis

Thematic Analysis is one of the most common and widely used forms found in the Qualitative Analysis that usually emphasizes on the pinpointing, examining and recording the patterns of themes related to the data. Such themes and patterns that initialize through the data sets are important to describe the core phenomenon of the research question (Sadler, 2001). In short Thematic Analysis is a Comparison and Contrast analysis of two different lectures and summaries.
Both of the lectures are totally different from each other, as one focuses on the transformational leadership on the organizational level, while other is talking about the sustainable development of an economy (Sadler, 2010). The theme of one lecture is essential for the other, because the node of prosperity of each of the lecture is associated with the other. From the 1st lecture’s summary, it is found that leadership has many faces, and it should be used in such a face that can enhance the level of productivity and level of efficacy for both employees as well as employers. On the other hand, 2nd lecture’s summary stated that sustainable development is essential for an economy to make their name high in the economic and strategic consequences (Sadler and Perry, 2006). The idea of 1st lecture can be applied over the idea of the 2nd lecture, as leadership can also be used to direct the performance of the economy rather than focusing only on the organizations. The core theme identified in the leadership’s lecture is to have transformational leadership while assigning any new work to the employees, and if transformational leadership applied on the sustainable development, and then it will certainly enhance the economic consequences of the economies with positive node.

Personal Reflection

Conclusion
Economic consequences are important for both, an organization as well as an economy, however the mechanics and methods in terms of its accomplishment vary accordingly. Leadership, its theories, traits and its behavior are always used in different types of lectures, however its implementation for the sustainable development has not been seen anywhere before. This particular assignment requires initiating a thematic analysis related to the two lectures provided. The entire analysis divulges that leadership is one of those human behaviors that is associated with both organizations as well as the economy. The analysis also found a fiduciary relationship among leadership and the sustainable development of the economy, as it provides a driving force to the individual that can induce the people to raise their voice against any mishaps and should work for their right. This is the only way from which an economy can get a long term sustainable development in the market.
